Dario Alioto
Dario Alioto

In a button vs small blind confrontation, Andrei Shpak and Dario Alioto got the chips in the middle with the latter being at risk for around 1,000,000.

Dario Alioto: AQ107 All in
Andrei Shpak: AAJ5

It didn't look good for Alioto and not much help arrived on the 268 flop, but he did pick up a gutshot straight draw. Only a nine would keep Alioto alive but neither the K turn nor Q river were the card he was looking for, and he was out in eleventh.

Gheorghe Butuc: KQQ8 All in
Claudio Di Giacomo: KQJ9

Di Giacomo had flopped the nut straight against Butuc's pair of kings, and Butuc found no help on the 5 turn or 10 river as he was eliminated in 12th place.
