Schutten Outduels Foxen

Niveau 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Brek Schutten
Brek Schutten

Kristen Foxen opened from under the gun and was called by one player before action folded to Brek Schutten in the small blind, who three-bet. Foxen flatted while the other player got out of the way.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Schutten led out for 19,000. Foxen, after some consideration, made the call.

Schutten slowed down on the board pairing {10-Clubs} turn, checking to Foxen who fired off 27,000. Though he had checked, Schutten was not yet ready to release his holding and tossed in calling chips.

The {10-Diamonds} river put three tens on the board and saw both players check it down. Schutten turned over {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Foxen mucked to send Schutten's stack shooting up to just a little under 300,000.

Kolev Finds River Call for Huge Pot

Niveau 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Boris Kolev
Boris Kolev

Just before the blinds went up, on a completed board of {q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} in an already bloated pot, a player on the button was all-in for approximately 144,000 chips, and Boris Kolev had a decision in middle position.

Kolev took some time to think about his decision and exhaled while examining his opponent. Eventually, he called.

His opponent started to get up and flipped over {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, while Kolev tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} to take the massive pot and soar to the top of the leaderboard.

Moran Survives

Niveau 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Daniel Moran
Daniel Moran

A player in late position opened to 9,000 and the short-stacked Daniel Moran shoved his last 37,000 into the middle from the button. Once action had folded back around to him, the late position player made the call to put Moran at risk.

Daniel Moran: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Late Position Player: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Though Moran was ahead, his opponent did have two live cards. The {3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop all but sealed the deal for Moran with the {2-Spades} turn cementing his survival prior to the meaningless {3-Spades} river.

Moran Building Back

Niveau 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

After being down to fewer than ten big blinds earlier this level, Daniel Moran has managed to rebuild the stack he had earlier in the day.

A player in the cutoff open shoved and Daniel Moran re-jammed his larger stack out of the small blind. The big blind folded and the cutoff player was at risk.

Cutoff Player: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Daniel Moran: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

Moran was once again ahead, this time holding a dominant lead over his opponent. The {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop paired both players' kickers, keeping Moran in front. Nothing changed on the {4-Clubs} turn or {a-Clubs} river, sending the cutoff player to the rail late in the day.

Zarco Coolers and Collects

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Just before the blinds went up, Javier Zarco opened to 8,000 from early position and the small blind jammed for approximately 60,000. Zarco called.

Small Blind: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Javier Zarco: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Zarco had a slightly better pocket pair, and the board ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} to eliminate his opponent, while Zarco collected the pot.

Cheong Runs Into Foxen's Rockets

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Joseph Cheong had gotten his 109,000 chips in from the cutoff and was at risk against Kristen Foxen in early position.

Joseph Cheong: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Kristen Foxen: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop and {j-Clubs} turn provided more of a sweat as the table watched in anticipation, but the {3-Diamonds} river bricked out and sent Cheong to the rail, while Foxen added to her stack.

Nussrallah Scores Huge Double Knockout

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Stephen Nussrallah
Stephen Nussrallah

A player in middle position was all in and had been called by Daniel Rezaei from one seat over. Stephen Nussrallah then re-jammed from the small blind, covering both other players and causing Rezaei to go into the tank. Eventually Rezaei emerged having decided to call to setup the three-way all in.

Middle Position Player: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Daniel Rezaei: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Stephen Nussrallah: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Rezaei was in dire straits while the other two players were locked in what would typically be a flip but with Rezaei holding an ace the middle position player was slightly favoured. The {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop changed little but the {5-Hearts} turn did give Rezaei life. It was not to be, however, after the {k-Spades} landed on the river, dashing both Rezaei's and the middle position player's hopes of making it to Day 2 while giving an enormous boost to Nussrallah's stack.
