La 4e journée de compétition avait commencé avec 74 joueurs déjà dans l'argent et seuls Omar Lakdhari (36e), Michel Abécassis (57e), Nicolas Cardyn (63e), Albert Sebag (67e) et Sébastien Lebaron (74e) ont laissé leurs camarades en route.
La performance d'ensemble est relevée par la présence d'Adrien Allain en tête du classement provisoire. Vainqueur de l'APT Macau et du WPT Amnéville, tout juste entré dans le Top 300 GPI, le Breton termine à 3,9 millions de jetons alors que son dauphin, Joao Vieira n'en a que 2,7 millions ! Joueur de l'année EPT, Jan Bendik complète le podium avec 2,4 millions.
Deux Français, Antoine Saout et Thi Xao Nguyen finissent au dessus de la barre des 2 millions et sont dans le haut du classement. Thi a aussi le plaisir de deep-run avec son compagnon Jimmy Guerrero, toujours présent avec 1,2 million et dans le Top 10 du général. Benjamin Pollak, chipleader à un moment du Jour 4 et pas très fourni à l'entame de celui-ci, finit lui aussi dans le Top 10, tout comme Mohamed Assaini, le mieux classé des Français en début de partie mercredi.
Les trois derniers tricolores en lice, Erwann Pecheux - Pierre Calamusa et Paul-François Tedeschi, reviendront au Jour 5 avec 20 blindes et toutes leur chance de se hisser en finale !
En plus des Français, le field est encore costaud. Vanessa Selbst n'a plus que 389 000 jetons mais elle fera peur à tout le monde en cas de double-up. En lice pour le titre de Joueur de l'année WPT jusqu'aux ultimes Main Event de la saison, Andjelko Andrejevic a lui monté un joli tapis et s'annonce comme un gros client.
Trois joueurs qualifiés sur des Spin & Go à 10$ sont encore là et continuent à y croire : l'allemand Jan Bengelmann (774 000), le Canadien Luc Tu (796 000) et le Kazakh Asan Umraov (744 000). Ariel Celestino (1 million), Roman Korenev (775 000) et Dario Sammartino (581 000) reviendront eux aussi au Jour 5, jeudi à partir de midi au Monte Carlo Bay Casino.
Chipleader à l'entame de la journée, le Polonais Marcin Chmielewski s'est incliné dans le dernier niveau de jeu et finit 32e pour un gain de 19 760€. Vainqueur de l'EPT Londres lors de la saison 4, Joseph Moawad se classe 34e alors que le vainqueur de la saison 6, Aaron Gustavson, termine 35e.
La journée a été fatale à Nacho Barbero (65e), Thiago Nishijima, Ivan Soshnikov, Govert Metal (46e), Fatima Moreira de Melo (44e) ou encore Randy "Nanonoko" Lew (30e).
