Bastian Dohler Eliminated in 7th Place (€56,510)

Niveau 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Tomas MacNamara - Bastian Dohler
Tomas MacNamara - Bastian Dohler

Hand 29: Right after Elie Saad's double up, there was another all-in-situation. It was folded to Tomas Macnamara on the button and he pushed for 660,000 in chips.

Next to him, Bastian Dohler moved all in as well. His shove was for 480,000 in chips. From the big blind Aliaksei Boika called and it was a three-way all in with two players at risk.

Tomas Macnamara: {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Bastian Dohler: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Aliaksei Boika: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

Dohler's sevens had to hold against for overcards, or his tournament would end here. Macnamara was in trouble as well, Boika had him covered and had the better hand.

The {5-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop was exactly what Macnamara hoped for. He flopped two pair and was way ahead now. The {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Dohler was looking for a seven on the river to survive.

The river was the {K-Diamonds} and the PokerStars.com €10 Spin & Go qualifier just missed out on reaching the final day here at the EPT Malta Main Event.

Macnamara scooped huge pot while Boika took a fairly severe hit, leaving him with a little less than 20 big blinds when play resumes tomorrow.

Although Bohler didn't make it to the final six he scored a big payday. He did spin his €10 up to a payout of €56,510.

Niveau 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Xixiang Luo Eliminated in 8th Place
Xixiang Luo Eliminated in 8th Place

Hand #26: From the cutoff, Xixiang Luo came in raising to 90,000. One seat over, Peter Ockenden made a three-bet to 250,000. Big blind Elie Saad folded but Luo wasn't done with the hand and put in a four-bet to 655,000.

Ockenden shoved all in and Luo called. The Chinese was at risk and he was behind when the cards were tabled.

Peter Ockenden: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
Xixiang Luo: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The flop was {9-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades} and didn't provide much help for Luo. The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and gave Luo some hope. However, the river wasn't another king. When the {Q-Spades} hit the felt, Luo was eliminated from this EPT Malta Main Event.

He scores a €41,590 payday for his eighth place in this tournament. With Luo's bust out, final table play will continue until one more player busts. The remaining six will come back tomorrow to play down to a winner.

Dominik Panka Eliminated in 9th Place (€41,590)

Niveau 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Dominik Panka
Dominik Panka

Back from the break, Dmitry Yurasov opened in the first hand and took down the blinds and antes. One hand later, Yurasov opened again. From first position, he made it 90,000.

It was folded to Dominik Panka and the Pole moved all in for 850,000 in chips. When it was folded to Yurasov, he directly called.

Dominik Panka: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Dmitry Yurasov: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The last former EPT champion remaining was at risk and he wasn't in good shape. Yurasov's kings were ahead.

The {J-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs} made it even worse for Panka as Yurasov flopped a set. Panka was looking for running cards to survive. The {A-Hearts} turn wasn't one of the cards he wanted to see and it was all over. The inconsequential river was the {9-Hearts}.

Panka takes home €41,590 for his achievement. He is the official final table bubble. It wasn't the first time Panka had a deep run at the EPT Malta Main Event. He was third here in March 2015, during EPT season 11.

Karlsson Takes A Massive Pot From Saad

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Mats Karlsson
Mats Karlsson

Elie Saad raised to 65,000 from middle position and Mats Karlsson defended his big blind. Karlsson checked the {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop to Saad, who bet 85,000. Karlsson put in a check-raise to 275,000 and Saad called after a minute of thought.

The {7-Hearts} landed on the turn and Karlsson took some time before cutting out a bet of 325,000. Saad came along with a pretty quick call, leaving himself with less than a potsized bet behind.

The {8-Spades} on the river completed all the draws out there. Karlsson opted for a small bet of 250,000 in the pot of 1,390,000. Saad called, but got shown the bad news by Karlsson. The Swede tabled {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and took down the massive pot to extend his chiplead.

Louis Cartarius Eliminated in 10th Place (€32,140)

Louis Cartarius
Louis Cartarius

Louis Cartarius raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and Dominik Panka called on the button. Aliaksei Boika put in a three-bet to 190,000 from the small blind. Back on Cartarius, the German shoved all in for 625,000.

Panka folded, Boika double-checked his holecards to make sure and then called.

Louis Cartarius: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Aliaksei Boika: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

Cartarius was in a world of hurt, but could find solace in the other short stacks finding miracle escapes. Could the German pull off the upset as well?

The flop {2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} wasn't what he needed, but the {9-Hearts} on the turn improved his number of outs to ten. It wasn't meant to be, as the {9-Spades} on the river put the final nail in the coffin.

Louis Cartarius finished in 10th place of the EPT Malta Main Event and took home €32,140. The remaining players are all being moved to the feature table to start the unofficial final table.

Marco Bartolini Eliminated in 11th Place (€32,140)

Marco Bartolini
Marco Bartolini

Marco Bartolini flew under the radar for more than four days. The Italian quietly played himself to the last 11 in the EPT Malta Main Event, but his journey ended there.

From the button, Marco Bartolini open-shoved 280,000. Due to Colautti's bustout in the previous hand, there was only a big blind with Xixiang Luo. The Chinese took some time before calling, presumably waiting until the camera's had arrived to capture the moment.

Marco Bartolini: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Xixiang Luo: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

Bartolini was in a deep hole from the start and couldn't catch up on {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. The Italian did score a payjump, and he received a sweet payday of €32,140.

Daniele Colautti Busted in 12th

From the cutoff, big stack Dmitry Yurasov raised to 55,000. It was folded to Daniele Colautti in the big blind and he made a three-bet to 150,000.

Yurasov double checked his cards, gave it a short moment of thought and then moved all in. Colautti quickly called for a little less than 900,000 in total and the cards were tabled.

Dmitry Yurasov: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Daniele Colautti: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Colautti was in good shape for a double up, but the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop turned the tables around. Yurasov hit his set and when the {5-Spades} hit the turn, Colautti was down to two outs.

The river wasn't a nine but the {10-Diamonds} and Colautti stood up from the table.

"Unlucky", Ockenden said.

Colautti didn't seem too disappointed. "I had to lose one eventually", he replied.

Dmitry Yurasov now sits on an even bigger stack.

Ole Schemion Eliminated in 13th Place (€25,030)

Ole Schemion

Aliaksei Boika opened the action to 60,000 in early position, Mats Karlsson three-bet to 160,000 from the cutoff and Ole Schemion quickly moved in for 412,000 on the button. Boika folded and Karlsson asked for a count, indicating he didn't have a premium hand.

With the price being too good for Karlsson to fold, he reluctantly committed the extra chips to put Schemion at risk.

Ole Schemion: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Mats Karlsson: {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Schemion was in a prime position to double up again, but it wasn't meant to be. The {3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{A-Hearts} board gave Karlsson a straight on the river to knock out Schemion. The "Schemion-slayer" finished what he started yesterday, and the German juggernaut was eliminated in 13th place.

Benjamin Pollak Eliminated in 14th Place (€25,030)

Niveau 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Benjamin Pollak
Benjamin Pollak

The action started right away on the outer table. In the first hand of the day, Peter Ockenden opened to 55,000. From the small blind, Benjamin Pollak moved all in and it was over to Xixiang Luo in the big blind.

Luo, moved all in for slightly less and Ockenden folded.

Xixiang Luo: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Benjamin Pollak: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

It was a race and Luo needed to hit to survive. He paired his ace on the {Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop and Pollak was in bad shape.

The Frenchman couldn't improve on the {2-Diamonds} turn and {4-Clubs} river. Luo doubled his 569,000 stack and gained some extra from Ockenden raise. Meanwhile, Pollak was left with only 32,000 chips.

The next hand, Daniele Colautti opened to 50,000 and Pollak moved all in. Again, it was Luo who was getting involved. He raised to 150,000 and that was enough to squeeze Colautti out.

Pollak had {K-Hearts}{7-Spades} and was behind against the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} from Luo. The {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop gave Pollak a straight draw but he never got there when the {5-Hearts} and {2-Clubs} landed on turn and river.

Pollak is out in 14th place, which earns him €25,030. Meanwhile, Luo moves up really quick on the leaderboard.
