Barcenas Romera Takes Chips From Baumann

Niveau 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Gaelle Baumann
Gaelle Baumann

Gaelle Baumann raised from the small blind and Ignacio Barcenas Romera three-bet to 20,500 from the big blind. Baumann called the three-bet and they saw the flop heads-up.

The flop fell {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Baumann check-called a bet of 13,500 from Barcenas Romera to see the {10-Diamonds} turn. Both players checked this time and the {a-Spades} river came down to complete the board.

Baumann checked and Barcenas Romera thought about it for a minute before he checked behind. Baumann tabled her {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} but that wasn't enough to take down the pot against the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} of Barcenas Romara.

Over on the feature table, Jerome Ruefenacht raised from early position and was called by Nicolas Chouity and Mustapha Kanit in the big blind. On a flop of {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Kanit check-shoved for 33,000 and Ruefenacht called while Chouity got out of the way.

Mustapha Kanit: {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Jerome Ruefenacht: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Kanit needed a diamond to survive, but the {5-Clubs} turn and {4-Hearts} river ended his run in the Main Event in Monte-Carlo early on Day 2.

On a three-way flop of {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}, Erwann Pecheux checked and Afshin Taheri in the hijack made it 8,500 to go. Vamshi Vandanapu called on the button and Pecheux sent his cards into the muck.

The {9-Diamonds} appeared on the turn and Taheri bet 19,500, Vandanapu came along and both ended up checking the {2-Spades} on the river. Taheri shook his head and tabled {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, which Vandanapu had beat with {9-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a flush.

Vieira Triples Up

Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

The board read {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} already and Joao Vieira was all-in already. He was up to win the main pot for about 20,000 and the side pot had 22,000 in it. Georges Hanna and Pablo Melogno were battling for both pots.

Both got an extra 15,000 in on the turn and the {q-Diamonds} river was dealt. Melogno bet 19,000 but he didn't get a call after the clock was called on Hanna.

Melogno won the side pot with {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} but the main pot went to Vieira with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Evard Cracks Aces to Bust Peralta

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ryan Riess made it 4,500 to go and Francois Evard three-bet to 13,000 in the cutoff. A short-stacked Eugenio Peralta four-bet all in for what appeared to be 31,000 and Riess gave it some thought before folding, Evard called.

Eugenio Peralta: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Francois Evard: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop was no threat just yet, however, the {10-Spades} turn and {q-Clubs} river gave Evard an unlikely straight and Peralta a bad beat story to tell.
