Sibgatova Out as Kvilhaug's Incredible Heater Continues

Niveau 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Alisa Sibgatova
Alisa Sibgatova

Three hands, three eliminations and no one seems more surprised than the player at the center of it all, Evy Kvilhuag. Just now she has busted a third player in as many hands, with Alisa Sibgatova the latest casualty of her incredible heater.

Sigbatova had raised all in over a raise and a flat call from Kvilhaug and when the initial raiser folded, Kvilaug called 360,000 more.

Evy Kvilhaug: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Alisa Sibgatova: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Once again, the preflop favorite held despite a sweaty {3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop. The turn and river were {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Kvilhaug is closing in on 2 million in chips.

Vogelsang Barrels into Reskallah

Niveau 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang was playing the button and Aladin Reskallah in the big blind on a {7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop. Reskallah check-called a 35,000 bet and the dealer put a {k-Hearts} on the turn. Once again Reskallah checked to Vogelsang who made it 135,000 this time. Reskallah didn't like the price and passed.

Travers Out to in Back to Back Eliminations for Kvilhaug

Niveau 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Ambrose Travers
Ambrose Travers

The first hand saw Evy Kvilhaug eliminate Vlado Banicevic and the second saw more of the same after Evy Kvilhaug opened to 45,000 on the button and Ambrose Travers moved all in for 455,000 with {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} in the blinds. Unfortunately for Travers, Kvilhaug had pocket rockets with {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} in the hole.

By the {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} turn, it was locked up for the Norwegian and Travers was out of his seat before the dealer put a {9-Spades} on the river. What an incredible start to the day for Kvilhaug already.

Banicevic Eliminated in First Hand as Well

Niveau 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Vlado Banicevic
Vlado Banicevic

The first hand on the feature table has seen an elimination as well. Vlado Banicevic moved all in for 350,000 with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} on the hijack and Evy Kvilhaug moved all in over the top for 485,000 with {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

Nothing untoward happened on the {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts} board and Kvilhaug knocked out Banicevic in 29th.

Maskill First to Bust

Niveau 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jack Maskill
Jack Maskill

Over on the outer tables, Jack Maskill got his last 150,000 in and was called by Viktor Katzenberger in the cutoff.

Jack Maskill: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Viktor Katzenberger: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} flop gave Katzenberger a set while Maskill had the nut flush draw. Sure enough the {3-Spades} followed on the turn only for the {7-Hearts} river to give Katzenberger a winning full house and sending Maskill to the rail in 30th place.

Who Will Reach the Final Table of the 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Main Event?

Nicolas Chouity
Nicolas Chouity

Only 30 hopefuls out of a 922-entry strong field remain for Day 4 of the 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour €5,300 Main Event and the penultimate tournament day will aim to play down to the final table for the big showdown on Saturday, May 4th, 2019. All remaining contenders have €19,990 locked up for their efforts so far, however, all eyes are set on the top prize of €827,700, the trophy and the bragging rights that come along with it.

Leading the field into Day 4 at the Monte-Carlo Sporting is high stakes regular Timothy Adams with 2,190,000, closely followed by Nicolas Chouity (2,155,000) and Melika Razavi (2,050,000). They are the only three players with more than 100 big blinds for the restart, and as many former EPT champions remain in contention.

Besides Chouity, who lifted the trophy back in 2010 when he took down the EPT6 Grand Final for €1,700,000, Paul Michaelis (1,480,000) and Remi Castaignon (680,000) also have a shot at becoming the second player to win two EPT Main Events. Michaelis may even go back-to-back, as he triumphed in Prague in December 2018 before the popular tournament series headed to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure on the Bahamas earlier this year.

Further notables that advanced to the penultimate day include Manig Loeser (1,635,000), Aladin Reskallah (1,600,000), James Romero (1,310,000), Rustam Hajiyev (1,045,000), Conor Beresford (1,010,000), Govert Metaal (790,000), online crusher Wiktor "limitless" Malinowski (715,000), Christoph Vogelsang (625,000), Sam Greenwood (550,000), and Ryan Riess (230,000).

The action resumes at noon local time with blinds of 10,000/20,000 and a big blind ante of 20,000. The 30-second shot clock remains in play and at least five and up to six 90-minute levels can be expected for Day 4.

The live stream with hole cards displayed on a security delay of 30 minutes will be hosted on the PokerStars Twitch and YouTube channels and you can follow all the action from Monte-Carlo right here on PokerNews with thorough coverage until a champion is crowned.
