Niveau 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

The action started with a raise by Morgan Aceto and Sergey Baburin three-bet from one seat over. Ramon Colillas then four-bet all in for around 350,000 in the big blind, which forced out Aceto and brought a call from Baburin with a near-identical stack.

Ramon Colillas: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Sergey Baburin: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board brought {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades} and the stacks were counted. Baburin had 370,000 and Colillas was covered to head to the rail.

Shehadeh Triples Up

Niveau 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Jean Desmottes - Luigi Shehadeh
Jean Desmottes - Luigi Shehadeh

Dennis Schienagel raised to 42,000 and Jean Desmottes jammed in the cutoff for 253,000. Luigi Shehadeh also moved all in, for 245,000 on the button, and Schienagel asked for counts before making the call.

Luigi Shehadeh: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Jean Desmottes: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Dennis Schienagel: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Desmottes was poised for a triple up, but instead that was granted to Shehadeh who spiked a jack on the {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts} river. Desmotte was stuck with 8,000, which he doubled through Schienagel.

Higgs and Castaignon Collide In Another Massive Pot

Niveau 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Sam Higgs
Sam Higgs

Not long ago, Sam Higgs had tripled up with a short stack after he lost a big pot to Remi Castaignon. Since then, Higgs moved back to a big stack and now won an enormous pot to take revenge on Castaignon in a setup hand.

Higgs had raised from the cutoff and Castaignon called on the button to see the {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, on which Higgs bet 65,000 and Castaignon called. On the {k-Spades} turn, Higgs check-raised from 230,000 to 500,000 and Castaignon came along to see the {8-Clubs} on the river.

Higgs now took some time before announcing a bet of 1,000,000 with some chips behind and Castaignon quickly called. The Aussie flipped over {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Castaignon mucked {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a flopped full house that fell behind on the turn.

Glaser Falls to Romero

Niveau 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Benny Glaser - James Romero
Benny Glaser - James Romero

Benny Glaser and James Romero have spent the better part of the day next to each other and another clash between the two would turn out to be the last one for the British mixed game specialist. After Marco Monello had raised to 45,000 from under the gun, both Glaser and Romero shipped their stacks in in quick succession. Monello gave it up to go to a showdown.

Benny Glaser: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
James Romero: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

There was no help for Glaser on {6-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and he fist-bumped the American in acknowledgment.

Toma Outflops Avdagic, Soars Sky-High

Tsugumari Toma
Tsugumari Toma

In a cutoff versus button situation, Tsugunari Toma called a three-bet from Enes Avdagic. The flop came down {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Toma checked. Avdagic bet 170,000, Toma check-raised to 470,000, Avdagic shoved all in for 1,055,000 and Toma put a stack of chips in with a loud thump, indicating a call.

Enes Avdagic: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Tsugunari Toma: {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Toma held top and bottom pair against Avdagic' top pair top kicker and was in great shape to knock his opponent out. The {6-Clubs} turn and {2-Diamonds} river improved Toma further to a boat and he raised both his fists in celebration.

Benny Glaser Shares What Makes EPT Monte Carlo a Favorite Poker Stop

Niveau 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

Much better known for his non-Hold’em mixed game prowess, Benny Glaser has been showing lately that he’s also comfortable with his no-limit hold’em game. The U.K. poker pro recently finished second in the Unibet Irish Poker Open €2k high roller, an event he won in November, and also cashed 21st in the €1,150 Main Event there.

Here at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour, Glaser is playing more no-limit hold'em tournaments, today finishing 45th out of 1,425 entries in the €1,100 French National Championship. In his final hand, he got his remaining stack in with ace-king suited but couldn't find help versus James Romero's pocket jacks, settling for a modest cash of €3,950.

PokerNews talked with Glaser during a break of the tournament to get his thoughts on the event and the festival. Despite the rather high expenses required to stay in Monte Carlo, there's plenty that keeps Glaser coming back to this particular stop...

Kurdin's Stack Melts Away

Jacquelyn Scott
Jacquelyn Scott

In a three-bet pot to the {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, Vasily Kurdin bet out of the big blind for 200,000 and Jacquelyn Scott moved all in. Kurdin studied Scott for some time, who was staring down towards the middle of the table with her hands near the face, trying not to give away anything. Eventually, the Russian tossed in a single chip for the call to create the following showdown:

Vasily Kurdin: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Jacquelyn Scott: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Except for a joker in the deck, no card could help Kurdin and the {9-Diamonds} turn and {j-Spades} river were a mere formality. Both stacks were very close and Scott had 1,625,000, Kurdin had 10,000 fewer chips and was eliminated in 28th place.

Dmitrii Sukhorukov

Dmitrii Sukhorukov found himself all in and at risk for 440,000 with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} against the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} of Luca Fontanel. The flop? Well, it couldn't come more perfect, as the dealer spread out {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} to give the Russian a straight flush and end the hand on the spot.

The subsequent hand, after a raise to 110,000 from under the gun, Sukhorukov got it all in once more. Sylvain Mazza went over the top all in from the blinds and had Sukhorukov crushed.

Dmitrii Sukhorukov: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Sylvain Mazza: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The {9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} board left Sukhorukov second-best and he made his way out in 25th place. Following Sukhorukov's bust, the field redrew for the final three tables.
