Magyar Finds a Call

Niveau 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Tom Orpaz was out of position in a heads-up pot against Istvan Magyar on a board of {5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

With around 15,000 in the middle, Orpaz bet 12,000 and sat with his headphones over his ears as Magyar tried to get some information as he thought through a call.

"He can't hear you," someone at the table said.

"Oh, he heard me!" countered Magyar.

After a minute or so, Magyar winced and closed his eyes as he put out 12,000 for a call. Orpaz flipped over {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} for ace-high and Magyar proudly tabled {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} to win the pot with a pair of fours.

Niveau 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Sven Kromes was all in for around 30,000 against Tom Fuchs, who had him covered.

Sven Kromes: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Tom Fuchs: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The flop of {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} kept Kromes ahead with queens and he needed to just dodge an ace or king to stay alive.

"Very good!" said Phachara Wongwichit, who was sitting next to Kromes.

The {2-Clubs} on the turn didn't change things but the {a-Clubs} then peeled off on the river to bring an "oh!" out of Wongwichit and to send Kromes out of the tournament.
