Yesterday we fell 13 players short of beating last year's Day 1a field when 179 players entered this year vs. 192 last year. Today will be close as to whether the tournament will beat last year's Day 1b total of 269 players with 236 currently in the field. Eliminations are occurring a little more frequently than earlier with 198 players remaining.

The Winamax SISMIX Main Event is just shy of having 100 separate re-entries. One of the players we noticed in yesterday's field to bust out late in the day was France's Romain Lewis.
Lewis is back in the action, and immediately aggressive. In his second hand, he four-bet from the small-blind to 5,600 with which the button who three-bet the action to 1,600 called.
Lewis bet 3,700 on a flop and the player in the big blind called. Both players checked when the hit the river. Despite not pairing the board nor completing his straight, Lewis jammed all-in on the river, and his opponent folded.

Team Winamax member Aurélie Quélain just made a big laydown. On a board of her opponent Mathieu Morel bet 16,525 into a 18,000 chip pot. Quélain called with top pair holding to bring her stack down to 4,000 chips after that hand. Since then, she has doubled up to 8,000.
After winning that huge pot, Morel is now among the chip leaders with a stack of 70,000.

We now have just entered Level 6 with blinds at 200/400 and an ante of 25. Yesterday late registrations and re-entries slowed down a bit at this point, however, the tournament is still likely to beat last year's Day 1b total with 265 players registered now when compared to 269 during Day 1b last year.
If Day 1b reaches 282 players, which seems possible at this point, then the tournament size after two opening days will be larger than last year's Main Event. Yesterday with 179 players, the field was 13 players shy of the 192 that entered Day 1a last year.
It certainly isn't unusual for poker players to wear sunglasses that cover your eyes. What about sunglasses or maybe goggles that cover half of a player's face?
In an unusual style, Mouad Benharmach has taken sunglasses to a new form during Day 1b of the Winamax SISMIX Main Event. So far so good for the Moroccan as he has more than doubled his starting chip stack.
