Hands #32–36: Wellenbach Raising it Up

Niveau 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Scott Wellenbach
Scott Wellenbach

Hand #32: Scott Wellenbach raised to 150,000 in middle position with {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Brian Altman called from the big blind with {Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}. The {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop went check/check. Altman bet 300,000 on the {4-Spades} turn and Wellenbach folded.

Hand #33: Wellenbach opened to 150,000 again, this time with the {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Chino Rheem called on the button with {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and flopped a monster on {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, while Wellenbach flopped a flush draw. He checked and called a 200,000 bet from Rheem.

Rheem bet 300,000 on the {2-Clubs} turn and Wellenbach check-called once more. The {5-Diamonds} river bricked out and Wellenbach check-folded to Rheem's 600,000-bet.

"I had it, sir," Rheem told Wellenbach the truth.

Hand #34: Wellenbach opened again, this time with {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to 150,000 from under the gun. No customers for Wellenbach who took the blinds and antes.

Hand #35: Mihai Manole folded {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} under the gun from a 17 big blind stack. Brian Altman raised to 130,000 from the cutoff with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and won the hand.

Hand #36: Altman raised to 130,000 in the hijack holding {7-Spades}{5-Spades}. Pavel Veksler had {J-Spades}{10-Spades} one seat over and called in position. The {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{5-Hearts} gave Altman a pair and he bet 135,000. Veksler took a sip of water before sliding in a call.

Altman hit trip fives on the {5-Diamonds} turn and bet 300,000. Veksler gave it up.
