Weissman Out before the Money

Niveau 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Joey Weissman
Joey Weissman

Joey Weissman was all in for a mere 6,000 from the cutoff and Mazin Khoury reshoved the small blind.

Weissman tabled the {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Khoury held {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

"Easy hold, ace of spades," Sam Grafton said. The board came {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Weissman doubled to six big blinds. However, he was ousted shortly after and busted a few spots off the money after coming into the day second in chips.

Felipe Pantoja

Max Lehmanski raised to 6,500 in middle position, Felipe Pantoja three-bet to 21,000 on the button and Lehmanski called. On the {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, Lehmanski checked and Pantoja bet 16,000. Lehmanski cut out 47,000, put his hand before his mouth and stuck the chips in.

Pantoja wasn't backing down just yet and put in a three-bet to 100,000, which was met by a snap-fold from Lehmanski. Pantoja flung {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} open for a king-high airball.

"Ooh yeah!" Rajesh Vohra shouted. "That's my boy!" he cheered.

Kenney Pounds on Andrejevic

Niveau 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Six places off the money, Bryn Kenney raised to 7,000, Andjelko Andrejevic called to his left and Randy Lew jumped in from the big blind. On the {2-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop, Lew and Kenney checked to Andrejevic who bet 10,000. Lew folded and Kenney check-called. The {9-Hearts} on the turn got checked by both players.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and Kenney checked a third time, Andrejevic bet 30,000, but Kenney had a trick up his sleeve and check-raised all in, putting Andrejevic to the test for almost 110,000 more. Andrejevic gave it up after quite some thought.

Kenney revealed the {5-Clubs} with a grin and Andrejevic smiled as well.

Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Among the big names to bust before the money was also 2016 PCA Main Event champion Mike Watson, joined by other notables as Scott Seiver, Francois Billard, Bartlomiej Machon, Kyle Julius and Dominik Nitsche.

There are only 133 players remaining with 127 spots getting paid, and the money bubble may well burst before the upcoming dinner break at the end of the current level.

The turn came the {4-Diamonds} and Kharkov continued with another bet of 11,000. Yu called again.

Ross Doubles Through Yu

Niveau 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

About one dozen spots away from the money, Eli Ross defended his small blind against a raise by Ben Yu and ended up all in with the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} on a {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Yu called with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for top two pair and the {4-Spades} turn and {Q-Hearts} river completed the board to give Ross a winning flush.

More Notables Eliminated

No Cash for Chen and Yoon

Niveau 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Andrew Chen
Andrew Chen

Andrew Chen had a little over 10 big blinds left and shoved those from early position with {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Franz Ditz looked him up with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and had an easy hold on {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{J-Spades} to eliminate Chen.

Chen was shortly followed out of the door by Brian Yoon, who had shoved all in for 25,000 on the button with {A-Spades}{4-Spades}. Felipe Pantoja, who has been meditating on the tournament floor during the breaks, called from the small blind with {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Once again, the best hand held up on a {7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board and the field was brought down to ten before the money.
