Chipleader depuis l'entame du tournoi, David Peters a conclu lors du Jour 3 du Main Event Poker Masters à 100.000$ l'entrée. L'Américain remporte 1 150 000$ après un plan à 3 d'environ 5 heures et un head's up contre Dan Smith.
David Peters avait remporté l'événement d'ouverture de ce Poker Masters disputé dans le studio PokerGo qui se trouve sur le Strip de Las Vegas (un 10.000$ pour un peu moins de 200 000$). Il a empoché 5,7 millions de dollars depuis le 1er janvier 2018.
C'est Ali Imsirovic, présent au Jour 2 du Main Event, qui remporte le leaderboard après avoir gagné le 25 000$ et le 50 000$ coup sur coup. Eliminé juste avant l'argent sur le Main Event après trois finales sur les trois premiers tournois, Brandon Adams n'a pas réussi à aller chercher le Top 3 dont il avait besoin pour mettre Almedin KO.

4 des 25 entrants étaient présents au Jour 2, tous assurés de 250 000$. Peters et Smith avaient alors beaucoup de profondeur, Kenney et Aldemira se battant pour franchir un échelon de paiement supplémentaire. Après des heures à jouer shortstack, Bryn Kenney a craqué le premier en faisant tapis ... pour se faire payer par Aldemir avec !
Content de la manière dont il a joué, Kenney ajoute encore une belle ligne à son palmarès, lui qui réalise aussi une année à plus de 5 millions de dollars de gains. Smith et Peters semblaient destinés à jouer l'ultime duel mais l'Allemand de service a doublé contre Smith.
Le plan à 3 s'est ensuite étalé sur des heures et des heures. Aldemir a trouvé un call de génie contre Smith pour prendre la tête et reléguer l'Américain en queue de peloton. "Je ne l'ai pas cru", indiquait Koray après la partie.
Quelques minutes après, Aldemir a placé un cold 4-bet à tapis après une ouverture de Smith. David Peters a payé avec pour un flip et a battu les d'Aldemir en faisant quinte au tournant. Ce lancer de pièce à 3 millions de chips (sur les 5 millions en jeu dans le tournoi, ndlr) va relancer Peters vers la victoire.
Dan Smith va ensuite doubler avec deuxième paire sur un check-raise à tapis. David Peters va prendre la bonne décision en payant avec Top paire mais son adversaire va trouver un double-up à 2 millions avec une quinte backdoor.
Incapable de trouver de l'air, Aldemir va finir par mettre ses 8 dernières blindes et tomber face à Dan Smith, "déçu". "Je dois avouer qu'il y a de la déception, j'ai fait des erreurs aujourd'hui. Je ne suis pas super content de ce que j'ai fait", terminera Koray Aldemir.
Le head's up attendu aura été long à venir, 175 mains ! Les deux joueurs, presque à égalité au chipcount, vont se mettre d'accord pour accélérer la structure et Peters va prendre l'avantage en frappant top paire dans un pot 3-bet. Une couleur trouvée au flop va lui permettre d’accroître encore son avance
Pas malheureux, David Peters va conclure le travail avec contre ! "La partie était très dure, c'est un superbe challenge", a confié Dan Smith après sa défaite contre un joueur qui a trouvé le temps long.
"La semaine a été compliquée, il y a eu de belles batailles avec des joueurs fantastiques", a conclu David Peters qui profite de ce nouveau gain à 7 chiffres pour franchir la barre des 24 millions de gains en live !
