Peters Eliminates Reichenstein

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Uri Reichenstein at the EPT13 Barcelona Final Table
Uri Reichenstein at the EPT13 Barcelona Final Table

Last year's runner-up Uri Reichenstein, who received €807,100 for his second place finish, won't be repeating that performance this year as he just got knocked out by Tobias Peters.

It was a setup that did Reicheinstein in. Holding {5-}{5-}, Reichenstein saw an {A-}{6-}{5-} flop appear. The turn was the {6-}, improving Reichenstein to a full house. Unfortunately for the German, Peters held {6-}{6-} for quads to send the German to the rail.

Haber Busts to Vidal

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Alexander Haber three-bet all in out of the small blind for his last 8,700 and initial raiser Manuel Henares Vidal called.

Alexander Haber: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Manuel Henares Vidal: {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop left Haber with two outs, and the {10-Clubs} turn and {A-Hearts} river failed to improve the Jamaican, who was consoled by Mark Teltscher with the words "unlucky man."

Miles and Zdanovskyi Eliminated

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Anthony Chimkovitch, who finished 20th in the last ever European Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event, called the shove of Timothey Miles. "This isn't good, eh?" Miles asked and turned over his {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}. Chimvitch turned over the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and the board came {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} to eliminate Miles.

Shortly after, Juri Mereu faced the shove of Yurii Zdanovskyi for 8,900 and called with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Zdanovskyi only held {A-Spades}{5-Spades} and the board came {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to leave Zdanovskyi drawing dead on the turn.

Fast Shoves

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With the board reading {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{A-Spades}, Hirokazu Kobayashi had 13,300 in front of him and action was on Dietrich Fast. The German high roller shoved all in for 33,900 and despite the tempting odds Koyabashi mucked his hand.

Latorre Smashes Through 400k

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Jose Angel Latorre
Jose Angel Latorre

Start-of-the-day chipleader Jose Angel Latorre blasted out of the gates in a massive confrontation that left Tomi Brouk empty-handed after the dust had settled.

Latorre raised to 2,000 from under the gun, Tomi Brouk three-bet to 7,000 in middle position, Latorre four-bet to 23,000, and Brouk called. The flop was {J-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Latorre continued with 19,500. Brouk took some time before making the call.

On the {7-Spades} turn, Latorre cut out a bet of 44,000 and Brouk went deep in the tank. After several minutes, he cut out the calling chips and bolstered the pot to more than 100k.

The river was the {A-Hearts} and Latorre moved all in. Brouk sighed deep, as if he felt what was coming, and flicked in a calling chip to call off his last 70,000.

Jose Latorre: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Tomi Brouk: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Brouk's gut feeling was right, as Latorre had rivered the higher set to knock him out. Just like that, the Finn, who started the day with 160,800, was gone. Latorre is now swinging almost twice the stack of his nearest challenger.

Small Loss for Salter

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

From middle position, Jack Salter opened for 2,300. Just Krzysztof Dulowski in the big blind called and both of them checked the flop of {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and the {5-Hearts} turn.

The river {3-Hearts} completed the board and Dulowski bet 4,700. Salter played with a blue 5,000-chips for a bit and eventually called.

Dulowski showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for the rivered straight and Salter mucked.

Jake Cody: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Didier Mazairac: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board came {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Cody joined the rail early on Day 2.
