Only 287 players out of a 1,682-entry strong field remain for Day 3 of the 2017 PokerStars Championship Barcelona €5,300 Main Event and they all eye the trophy and first-place payout of €1,410,000 that comes along with it in the annex of Casino Barcelona. However, the first goal for today is securing a portion of the prize pool of €8,157,700 as just the top 247 spots will guarantee at least €8,740 for the efforts.
Leading the field of survivors into money day is Colombia's Mauricio Salazar Sanchez with 507,000, closely followed by Rosen Angelov (497,500) and Sergey Sergeev (470,500). Other big stacks include World Series of Poker Bracelet winner Asi Moshe (411,500), Mark Roovers (406,500), Jussi Nevanlinna (394,000), Patrick Leonard (394,000), Kyle Bowker (392,500), Dario Sammartino (355,500) and Juha Helppi (335,000). Raffaele Sorrentino, who took down the 2017 PokerStars Championship presented by Monte-Carlo Casino before the summer break, is also still in contention with a big stack of 300,000.
The last ever European Poker Tour Main Event champion Jasper Meijer van Putten made it through with 242,500 while two PokerStars Team Pros advanced in Andre Akkari (202,500) and Jeff Gross (29,000). Action will resume at 12 p.m. local time with level 15 and blinds of 2,000/4,000 and an ante of 500. At least five levels of 90 minutes with a break after each level are scheduled for Day 3 and the money bubble is expected to burst in the first two levels of the day before the field will get cut down further.

Alexandros Papadopoulos opened late position and big blind Roi Pereira Conde called.
The flop came and Conde checked. Papadopoulos bet 13,000 and Conde check-raised to 80,000 with 23,500 behind. Papadopoulos tanked for a fair bit before moving in and Conde committed his last 5 big blinds as well.
Alexandros Papadopoulos:
Roi Pereira Conde:
The on the turn did nothing effectively and the on the river made both players a flush and burst the bubble. Roi Pereira Conde, who was down to 4,000 in the previous level (a single big blind) worked his stack back up but eventually did bubble the Main Event. The remaining players are all in the money and guaranteed €8,740.
A massive pot was brewing and the river showed . Rafael Bertani bet 85,000 out of the small blind with a total stack of 220,000 and Akin Tuna asked for his count before moving all in. Bertani called and Tuna immediately said "good call," before turning over and assuming he had lost a big pot.
However, Bertani only turned over and headed to the rail. According to Tuna, Jaromir Hanel had raised and Tuna as well as Bertani called. On the flop, the action checked to Tuna and just Bertani called the bet of the German while Hanel said he folded ace-queen. The same action repeated on the turn for 32,000 before the clash ended with a bang.
Soon after, Tuna dragged in another decent pot when he bet the river for 50,000. Gabriel Subirana Lopez called and mucked when being shown for a set. "You can stay here," Tuna joked and his stack skyrocketed to 1.1 million.
Georges Hanna opened from middle position and Frederico Spilimbergo Volpe in the cutoff and Dimitrios Michailidis in the big blind both called.
The flop came and Michailidis checked. Hanna bet 25,000 and Volpe called, Michailidis folded.
With the landing on the turn, Hanna checked. Volpe bet 75,000 and Hanna check raised to 200,000. Volpe called.
The completed the board and Hanna announced all in, shoving for about 400,000. Volpe asked for confirmation that his opponent was indeed all in, and called upon getting confirmation. Since Volpe had 425,000 behind at that point, Hanna was the one all in.
Hanna hit the table with his fist, reason enough for Volpe to know for sure his was good. Hanna mucked, but the dealer revealed his hand to be .
[Removed:413] moved all in for 126,000 on top, which Arezki Belaidi called from one seat over. Saar Wilf shoved for another 180,000 on top and Belaidi called to put two players at risk.

Saar Wilf:
Arezki Belaidi:
The board came and the two pair of Pautrot were doomed by the flush of Belaidi, who sent two players to the rail and joined the chip millionaire club.
Action folded to Asi Moshe in the cutoff and he shoved for 215,000. Her neighbor, Nadia Wanzi, pondered for a bit, said "21 big blinds, huh?" and called. Both blinds quickly released.
Raffaele Sorrentino raised to 22,000 and Erik Friberg made it 60,000 to go from one seat over, which the Italian called. On the flop of , Sorrentino checked and called a bet of 55,000 by Friberg before the turn and river were checked through. Sorrentino showed for a set and won the pot.
Juha Helppi also bumped his stack up nicely. It started rather innocent with a raise by Dirk Gerritse from under the gun and a call by Rosen Angelov on the button, as well as a call by Helppi from the big blind. By the time the turn showed , Helppi checked and Gerritse bet 80,000. Rosen called and Helppi then check-shoved for 231,000 to force folds from both opponents,
Samuel Vousden was all in for the remainder of his short stack and tabled . Tsugunari Toma in the big blind called and tabled , and the board came .
While Toma has a ton of chips, there is always one with more. Benjamin Richardson knocked out Rosen Angelov and Dirk Gerritse in a big pot. According to Richardson, he raised to four times the big blind and Angelov called all in for less from one seat over. Gerritse in the small blind reshoved for 600,000 with pocket tens and Richardson snapped him off with kings, Angelov only had pocket eights.
