Denis Timofeev leader du PokerStars Championship Panama, Jonathan Abdellatif en finale

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Denis Timofeev
Denis Timofeev

Timofeev Takes the Chip Lead After Huge Call

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Denis Timofeev
Denis Timofeev

Kenneth Smaron opened the hijack to 65,000. Small blind Denis Timofeev, who won the previous hand from Smaron, three-bet to 210,000 with 1.4 million behind. Abdellatif folded his big blind, Smaron called.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Timofeev bet 225,000 into 485,000. Smaron called to grow the pot to 935,000.

As the {4-Hearts} hit the turn, Timofeev and Smaron checked.

The {J-Clubs} completed the board and Timofeev bet 375,000. Smaron asked to see how much Timofeev had behind (805,000) and eventually shoved over the top all in. Timofeev was facing a tough decision, and it took him several minutes to come up with one.

The pot took 12 minutes in total, but in the end it was worth it as Timofeev called with {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and that hand proved good. Smaron showed just {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Timofeev grabbed the chip lead.

Niveau 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

Kenneth Smaron opened for 55,000 and Byron Kaverman on the button three-bet to 147,000. Smaron thought about it for a bit when the action got back to him and he eventually shoved all in.

Kaverman didn't seem too thrilled and went deep into the tank. After some minutes, he called.

Kenneth Smaron: {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Byron Kaverman: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} which just about settled it. Kaverman got up already and said his goodbyes after the {Q-Spades} hit the turn.

The {A-Spades} on the river was of no importance anymore and Kaverman was heading for the payout desk tocollect his $35,920 cheque. The remaining seven players are guaranteed $48,520 at this time.

Michael Lech Eliminated in 9th Place ($35,920)

Niveau 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Michael Lech
Michael Lech

Michael Lech, down to just 120,000, shoved all in from the cutoff. Anthony Diotte, the second shortest stack, moved in over the top from the small blind for 200,000 total.

That wouldn't be the end of it just yet as big blind Robin Luca Wozniczek snap called to put them both at risk.

Robin Luca Wozniczek: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Anthony Diotte: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Michael Lech: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The flop came {5-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, helping Diotte from last to first in equity with a 63 percent chance of winning the hand.

The {6-Clubs} on the turn was a blank and so was the {4-Diamonds} on the river. Diotte almost tripled while Lech said his goodbyes.

Action was on Harpreet Gill in the big blind. After a full minute, he moved all in. Smaron quickly got out of the way and Salmon snap-called.

Gill saw he was miles ahead with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} as Salmon tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

Action folded around to Jonathan Abdellatif in the small blind and he moved all in for his remaining 238,000.

James Salmon was in the big blind and snap-called.

Abdellatif: {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Salmon: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Abdellatif was dominated and needed to get lucky to survive.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Abdellatif picked up a flush draw.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, giving Abdellatif the card he needed to keep the dream alive. The river was the insignificant {7-Spades} and Abdellatif collected his double up.

Robin Luca Wozniczek
Robin Luca Wozniczek

Kenneth Smaron opened with a raise to 45,000 from middle position. Cutoff Robin Luca Wozniczek called before Denis Timofeev on the button squeezed to 160,000.

Byron Kaverman tanked for some time before he let it go. The big blind folded as well and so did Smaron. Wozniczek, though, four-bet to 320,000 and Timofeev called to create a pot of 742,000.

The flop came {J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Wozniczek bet a mere 183,000. Timofeev called.

The {10-Clubs} hit the turn and Wozniczek bet another 285,000. Timofeev folded after just about 20 seconds or so.

Wozniczek showed {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and calmly collected the chips in the pot.

Kenneth Smaron raised to 45,000 from the cutoff and Harpreet Gill called on the button.

Igor Yaroshevskyy was in the small blind and moved all in for 682,000. Action was back on Smaron who moved all in over the top. Gill folded.

Smaron: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Yaroshevskyy: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Yaroshevskyy was dominated and needed to hit one of the remaining three queens in the deck.

The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Yaroshevskyy made a pair of queens, but unfortunately for him, Smaron also made a pair of kings.

The turn was the {10-Clubs}, giving Yaroshevskyy some outs for a chop, but the river was the {7-Diamonds} and he was sent to the rail.

The remaining players are on a quick break to re-draw for the unofficial final table of nine.
