Charlie Carrel Wins the Triton £50,000 8-Handed No Limit Hold'em for £1,321,000; Jumps into £100k

Charlie Carrel has defeated partypoker ambassador Jason Koon heads-up to win the 2019 Triton £50,000 8-Handed No Limit Hold'em event for £1,321,000.

Carrell's win sees him jump into third-place on the England all-time money list and now sits behind only Sam Trickett and Stephen Chidwick.

The event saw 109 entries take part and an extra day was needed for the heads-up matched to be completed.

Carrel spoke to the media straight after his victory, then immediately jumped into the £100k field.

Bonomo Pushes Haxton with His Small Stack

Phua Hits a Flush Against Kurganov

Igor Kurganov raised to 5,000 from the cutoff, and Paul Phua called in the small blind before Michael Chi Zhang made up the rest from the big blind.

Kurganov continued for 5,000 after the flop fell , and only Phua called.

Phua led out for 15,000 when the hit the turn, and Kurganov called.

The river revealed the and Phua bet 40,000.

"You have a small flush, Paul?" questioned Kurganov.

"Oh well, I have to see it" the Russian added seconds later before he flicked in a calling chip.

Triton co-founder Phua indeed did have the small flush with and Kurganov open-mucked for a straight.
