En tête du leaderboard avant l'ultime journée de compétition, Sean Winter a atteint la finale sans entrer dans l'argent... et Peters a montré tout son talent. L'Américain devait obligatoirement gagner pour s'offrir le ranking du festival ! "C'est extraordinaire, c'est un tournoi prestigieux, un super festival et de coiffer Sean de 10 points sur le dernier tournoi c'est un sentiment complètement fou", a commenté le vainqueur de 31 ans.

"J'essaye de continuer à m'améliorer. Je ne compte pas mes heures d'étude du poker et c'est formidable de voir que ce travail paye. J'ai toujours faim, je veux progresser, m'améliorer et jouer toujours mieux... cela ne s'arrêtera jamais. J'espère continuer comme cela", a terminé le champion.

La finale et le Jour 2 ont débuté avec 9 joueurs en lice pour 5 places payées. Nick Schulman s'est d'abord incliné contre Chris Hunichen... réduisant la lutte pour le leaderboard au duel Winter/Peters.

En terminant 8e sur un flip contre Keith Tilston, Winter obligeait alors Peters à vaincre pour tout rafler. Quelques minutes plus tard Jason Koon se faisait craquer les par Martin Zamani avant que Justin Bonomo ne fasse la bulle (6e), éliminé par Ryan Riess.

Schulman's USPO Comes to an Unceremonious End

2019 US Poker Open Main Event Final Table

The final day of the 2019 U.S. Poker Open is upon us. In less than an hour, the US Poker Open $100,000 Main Event, a tournament that began with 33 entries (the same number as last year's Main Event despite doubling the buy-in), will get underway with the final nine players, each looking to capture the first-place prize of $1,320,000.

Leading the way is Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen, who hasn't had the most impressive series so far — just one cash for $59,000 — he's in a prime position to increase that number by at least five times, as a min-cash is worth $264,000.

Additionally, David Peters, Nick Schulman, and Sean Winter are all still in it as well and are in contention for the US Poker Open Championship title, which comes with a trophy and $100,000 to the player who accumulates the most High Roller of the Year Points over the course of the series.

Winter currently leads that race and would lock up the title with a fifth-place finish or better, while Schulman needs at least second and Peters would need to win to secure the prize. Stephen Chidwick currently is tied with Winter for the lead, but Winter holds the tiebreaker over Chidwick with most money won.
