Pons Going Up

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

The player in the nine-seat raised to 350 and the player on the button called, as did Fernando Pons from the big blind.

The flop was {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and they all checked. The turn was the {5-Spades} and Pons bet out this time with a bet of 575. Only the initial raiser called. The {2-Spades} completed the board and Fons took down the pot by betting 750.

The Frog versus The Bunny

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

The always jovial Eyal Bensimhon has draped himself in his trademarked pink bunny hood again. He also brought out the frog version, and right-hand neighbor Alan Bittikofer decided to put on the frog hood for a few hands. As could be expected, the two tangled right away.

It was the frog that'd draw first blood from the bunny. Bittikofer check-called 4,500 on a {4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} board from Bensimhon before the {9-Hearts} river went check-check. Bittikofer showed {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for two pair and Bensimhon mucked.

Baldwin Making His Presence Felt

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

An opponent opened to 300 from the hijack, the player on the button called and Eric Baldwin jacked it up to 2,000 from the small blind.

Both of his opponents folded and Baldwin took down a pot with some well-timed aggression.

Miscikowski Misses

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

David Miscikowski defended big blind and check-raised to 2,000 on a {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop against Jake Balsiger, who was in middle position and called. The turn was a {7-Clubs} and Balsiger called another barrel of 2,600. On the {q-Spades} river, both players checked and Miscikowski opened {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a pair and a missed straight.

Balsiger took it with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.

Good Start for Mo

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a raised pot the flop was showing {2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} when Weiyi Mo check-called her opponent's bet for 550. The turn brought a {k-Diamonds} and went check-check. The river {j-Diamonds} brought no more action and Mo tabled {j-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a pair of jacks, which was good to make her opponent muck his hand.

Mo, who recently final tabled Event #57: $1,000/$10,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship, had now a stack around 62,000.

Fast Turns Broadway

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

From big blind, Dietriech Fast checked the {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop and Chris Vitch fired 500 in the hijack. Another player folded in the cutoff but Fast stuck around, calling.

The turn fell {A-Clubs} and Vitch checked back to see the {2-Hearts} complete the board. Fast led out 750 and Vitch tossed in a call.

Fast rolled over {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for turned nuts and Vitch mucked his hand.

Vitch in a Hole Early

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

Sterling Lipscomb opened for a raise and called a reraise to 1,500 from Chris Vitch, on his left in the cutoff. The flop came {2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Lipscomb check-raised to 2,800 after Vitch bet 800. Vitch called and then peeled for 2,500 on the {5-Hearts} turn, bringing a {4-Clubs} river. Lipscomb bet 6,000 and Vitch folded fairly quickly.

Moneymaker Has Seen Better Rivers

Niveau 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

We caught the action on the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} river where Chris Moneymaker, sitting on the button, faced a 3,500-bet from the middle of the table.

"Not the best river I've ever seen," Moneymaker said.

Then he took the calling chips and shuffled them a few times. However, Moneymaker eventually convinced himself to make the fold and no cards were shown despite Moneymaker trying to get a fold-and-show deal.
