Brunson Eliminated by Price

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Todd Brunson
Todd Brunson

All the money went in before the flop between Todd Brunson and Oliver Price with Brunson all in for right around 150,000.

Todd Brunson: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Oliver Price: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

There was no luck for Brunson when the flop fell {Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, leaving him in a massive hole drawing to running jacks. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and that sealed the deal, rendering the {A-Spades} on the river meaningless. Brunson hit the rail while Price moved to a bit under 400,000 chips.

Dinner Break on Day 4

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

According to the screens, there are 550 players remaining and they have been sent into a 75-minute dinner break. Action is set to resume at approximately 6:55 p.m. local time.

Borne Busts Dombowski in Last Hand Before Dinner

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Two tables were still running, and on one of them, a pot of more than 700,000 had built by the river of a board {K-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Timothy Dombowski had checked with around 160,000 remaining and Brian Borne pushed all in with the far superior stack.

After spending several minutes in the think tank — the dinner break was already underway for seven minutes — Dombowski called and Borne quickly turned over the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. Dombowski wanted to muck, but as per all-in showdown rules, had to reveal the {J-Spades}{10-Spades} for a missed straight and flush draw, and inferior pair. He headed over to shake hands with Borne before collecting his payout, while Borne stacked the chips and added, "I am the rookie of the year."

Johns Folds a Set and Rheem Shows Him a Straight

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem

Ian Johns and Chino Rheem were heads-up on the {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} board. Johns bet 60,000 into a main pot of about 135,000 and Rheem raised to 125,000.

Johns called and the river was the {q-Hearts}. Johns checked and Rheem slid out a stack of 325,000, covering Johns who had 290,000 behind. Johns went deep into the tank and, after about three minutes he announced "fold."

"Show me what you folded," said Rheem, and Johns turned over {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} for bottom set. "I wasn't going to show you this Ian, but you're my friend and you showed a set."

Rheem then turned over his {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the nut straight, assuring Johns that he indeed made the correct fold.

Ivey's Run in the Main Event Comes to an End

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey opened to 22,000 from middle position and Brian Altman three-bet to 75,000 in the hijack. The action folded back to Ivey who made the call to see a flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Ivey check-called a bet of 60,000 from Altman and the {8-Spades} landed on the turn. Both players checked to the {3-Diamonds} on the river and Ivey checked one more time. Altman stuck in a bet of 195,000 and Ivey check-raised all in for 629,000. Altman thought for over a minute and then made the call.

"Good call," Ivey said. Altman turned over {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Ivey was unable to beat it. Ivey held {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and shipped the rest of his chips to Altman in the last hand before the dinner break.
