Bonus Day! 11 Players Contest for the Event #22: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Bracelet

Music supervisor and poker player Scott Vener made the final day
Music supervisor and poker player Scott Vener made the final day

It is a bonus day of action today in Event #22: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em! This inaugural WSOP tournament was scheduled to be completed in two days, but a large field of 3,253 entrants forced the crowning of a champion to be postponed to a Day 3 when play ended last night with 11 players remaining.

Jorden Fox leads the charge of the final 11 who are looking to be the next bracelet winner with the largest stack in the room at 26,150,000 in chips, good enough for 52 big blinds. Following close behind is the only bracelet winner of the remaining field, Jeffrey Smith who took down his first bracelet at the 2014 WSOP in a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event.

Southern California will be well represented on Day 3 as Scott Vener of Los Angeles joins Fox and Smith to create a SoCal native dominance of the top three chip counts. While Vener certainly is no slouch at the poker tables, sporting over half a million in lifetime winnings on The Hendon Mob, he's even better known for his off-the-felt activities in the entertainment industry.

Vener was the music supervisor for HBO's hit series Entourage, and other accolades include co-hosting a radio show with Pharrell Williams. Today, a WSOP bracelet could very well be added to that list as Vener will return third in chips.

Eight other players will be challenging the top four for the bracelet as play resumes today at 12 p.m. local time in the Amazon room. All the returning players have locked up a $28,443 payday for 11th and 10th, but the money will really start to skyrocket once play reaches the final table, culminating in a grand prize of $420,693 for first place.

The PokerNews team will once again be present to bring live updates of who makes the final table and will begin hand for hand updates once the final table is determined, all the way down until a bracelet winner is crowned.

Garcia Doubles Through Fox

Start-of-the-day chip leader Jorden Fox raised the first hand of the day and won the blinds and ante. The next hand, he received a walk.

In the third hand, Marco Garcia shoved 3,650,000 from the cutoff and Fox called from the small blind.

Marco Garcia: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Jorden Fox: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop was great for Fox and he found himself in perfect shape to go three for three. However, the turn was the {10-Diamonds} Garcia needed to fill his straight and he pumped his fist in celebration. The river was the {8-Hearts} and a lone "vamooo" echoed from the rail as Garcia doubled up.

Andler Shoves on Gangaiah

Christopher Andler raised from the hijack and he got a call from the big blind from Jayachandra Gangaiah.

The flop came {4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Andler bet 1,100,000 which was called by Gangaiah.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}. Andler applied ultimate pressure and moved all in. Gangaiah ruffled his chips and thought for a long time, giving no indication which decision he was leaning towards, before eventually laying it down and sending the pot over to Andler to tilt the chips in his favor between two previously even stacks.

Fox Wins With Ace-King

Niveau 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Jorden Fox made it 1,200,000 in the small blind and Scott Vener defended the big blind. Fox continued his aggression with a bet of 1,600,000 on the {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop and 3,500,000 on the {6-Hearts} turn, both followed by calls from Vener.

The {9-Clubs} on the river completed every draw out there and Fox checked. Vener quickly checked behind and a relieved Fox instantly slammed {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} open. Vener couldn't beat that and mucked to slip to 11,500,000.

Marco Garcia moved all in for 4,750,000 on the button and Jorden Fox snapped him off in the big blind.

Marco Garcia: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Jorden Fox: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Once again, the American with Brazilian roots was all in and behind against Fox and for the second time, he was able to wiggle his way out of it with a favorable board. Accompanied by a louder "vamooo" this time, the dealer fanned out {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} to hand Garcia the double-up. Fox waved his hands in disbelief.

Trevino Doubles Through Andler

Niveau 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Atrayon Trevino moved all in for his remaining 4,500,000 from the hijack. He found a caller in Christopher Andler from the big blind.

Trevino held the {k-Spades}{9-Clubs} up against the {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} of Andler.

The board remained true for Trevino as it came {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} to give Trevino a double up.
