Serda Ships Hellmuth to the Payout Desk

Niveau 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

NLH

Patrick Serda opened to 5,000 from under the gun and Phil Hellmuth defended his big blind. The flop came down {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, Hellmuth checked to Serda who moved all in and Hellmuth called his remaining stack of about 2,500.

Serda tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for ace-high and was behind when Hellmuth showed {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, giving him two pair. The turn brought some emotions out of Hellmuth when the dealer flipped an {a-Hearts}, giving Serda the lead.

"Mother f***er always gets there," muttered Hellmuth under his breath as he awaited the {5-Clubs} river card that changed nothing. Serda pulled in the pot, eliminating Hellmuth from the tournament.

Nevanlinna turned up {2-}{3-}{4-} and scooped the pot with the nuts.

Madsen: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {2-}{10-}{6-}{10-}

Trumbul with the Big Slick

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

John Trumbul raised on his button and called when his neighbor Noah Bronstein three-bet. Bronstein barrelled on the {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{q-Hearts} flop and the {5-Clubs} turn and Trumbul called on both streets. The {j-Spades} river saw Bronstein slow down with a check and Trumbul fired. He received one more big bet from Bronstein who mucked upon seeing Trumbul's {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

Brian Yoon

NLH

Brian Yoon limped the small blind and Sean Yu raised to 6,300 from the big blind. Yoon called and the flop came down {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

Yoon check-called a bet of 9,000 from Yu and the {a-Hearts} came down as the turn card. Both players checked to the {q-Hearts} river and Yoon instantly moved all in for more than Yu had behind.

Yu sat there for about two minutes before he let go of his hand, sending the pot to Yoon on his heavy river bet.

Reiner Saves Himself from Further Damage

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Stud

Julius Reiner was raised on fifth street and he called one more bet on sixth as Vladimir Shchemelev's board featured three Broadway cards. Shchemelev fired on seventh again and Reiner would have to call about a half of his remaining stack to have a chance to earn the pot. He took some time and then let it go. Shchemelev showed him that he made a good fold as Shchemelev had aces up.

Reiner: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {9-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} - folded on seventh
Shchemelev: {a-}{q-}{x-} / {k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Madsen Running Up a Stack in NLH Round

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

NLH

The turned board read {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, and there was around 19,000 in the pot. Jussi Nevanlinna checked to Jeff Madsen who fired in 9,700 and Nevanlinna who had Madsen covered, instantly check-raised all in.

Madsen hit the tank for several minutes and then all of a sudden slammed in his 48,900 stack. Nevanlinna said "Good call," as he turned over {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for ace-high with a flush draw.

Madsen tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for top pair of ladies and the dealer flipped over a {9-Diamonds} on the river. Madsen's pair of queens pulled in the pot for a massive double through Nevanlinna.
