Kessler Peels Wheel to Stay Afloat

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Allen Kessler raised from the button, Chris Klodnicki reraised and Kessler fought back before Klodnicki put him all in for an effective 127,000. They drew one a piece and Kessler patted the second draw while Klodnicki still needed one. No cards were drawn on the final round and Klodnicki announced eight-six perfect, opening {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Kessler, however, drew a wheel and notched his doubled with the {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

With the board reading {7-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs} and over 500,000 in the pot, Alex Livingston bet, Philip Long called, and Vladimir Shchemelev called for the rest of his chips. Livingston held {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and chopped the low half with Shchemelev who showed {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Long, however, was the only beneficiary as he claimed the high half with {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

Rubinstein, on the other hand, did as his hand turned into two pair aces over fours. Rubinstein scooped in the pot, eliminating Pho from the tournament.

Chris Klodnicki was on the button, raising John Trumbul's bet from the big blind on a turn reading {9-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{a-Spades}. Trumbul called and he called one more bet on the {2-Diamonds} river.

"Aces up," Klodnicki said, showing {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a backdoor two pair. Trumbul mucked and continued with just over two big bets.

Sokchheka Pho opened to 25,000 from the hijack and Philip Long defended his big blind. The flop came down {q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and action checked to Pho who threw in 30,000.

Long check-raised to 125,000, Pho called and the {3-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Long fired in 145,000 and Pho swiftly called to see the {2-Diamonds} river card.

Long reached for chips and pushed in 220,000. Pho thought for a brief moment then called and Long turned over {q-Hearts}{7-Spades} for two pair. Pho slammed his hand into the muck and Long took down the massive pot on the final day.

Long Keeps Rising

Niveau 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Sokchheka Pho raised in the hijack, Rami Boukai made it three bets in the cutoff, and Philip Long called in the big blind. Pho called as well and the first draw saw all three players change two. Pho bet, Boukai raised and both Long and Pho called.

The second draw went one-pat-one and no bets were made. Pho patted again and so did Long while Boukai peeled one. The action was checked and Long took it down with {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-}.

Chris Bjorin
Chris Bjorin

Stud Hi-Lo

Chris Bjorin was all in for his last 21,000 on fourth street and Philip Long had an easy call to make, holding four-to-a-wheel.

Bjorin: {10-Clubs}{9-Spades} / {3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Clubs} / {6-Diamonds}
Long: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} / {a-Clubs}

Long finished with the wheel and Bjorin stood up. "I'm not nervous anymore," the two-time bracelet winner from Sweden said while leaving the tournament area.

Long is now playing over 1 million in chips.
