Oddschecker CEO Bentall Doubles Opponent, Then Doubles Himself

Niveau 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Toby Bentall
Toby Bentall

A player from late position opened for 2,600 and the cutoff player jammed for 20,100. Action was on Oddschecker CEO Toby Bentall who called from the big blind and the initial raiser folded.

Toby Bentall: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Bentall held two overcards to his opponent's hand but was unable to connect as the board ran out {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} leaving Bentall with only 5,200.

In the very next hand, the player from the cutoff opened for 6,000 and Bentall jammed for less from the small blind and the two players were heads up.

Toby Bentall: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Both players had live-cards and received help from the {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop, giving Bentall the flush draw while his opponent picked up a gutterball.

The {3-Clubs} turn missed both players but Bentall would double up after the dealer peeled off the {q-Spades} on the river.

Did Kozakevich Fold Kings Pre-Flop?

Niveau 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was unclear pre-flop, but Daniel Kozakevich was in early position and had 27,000 in front of him while Max Altergott was in late position and had raised all in for over 100,000.

Kozakevich was at risk if he called and he tanked and subsequently folded with a {k-} flashing.

Jesse Capps was at his table, and appeared to have been somehow involved in the hand.

"Ace-king?" said Capps and Kozakevich pulled a face. "I think I might have had the best hand."

Kozakevich pulled a different face as if to say 'not a chance'.

"You were in third place," said Kozakevich who continued to wrestle with the decision he had made."I'm just trying to convince myself!"

Sturges Chipping Up

Niveau 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The player in early position raised to 2,500 and the player in middle position called along with the cutoff. Mary Sturges, in the small blind, three-bet to 6,000. The player in early position, the player in mid-position and the cutoff stuck around with a call.

"Look what I started, let's see if I can finish,'' muttered Sturges.

The dealer spread a flop of {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} that was checked through to the {9-Diamonds} turn. Sturges threw in a bet of 9,500 and all of her opponents gave up their hands.

"Sweaty palms, you know what that means," commented Stuges jokingly while raking in the pot.

Rogowski Swears He'll Call

Niveau 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Andrzej "Andy" Rogowski checked a {2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop from the big blind, and a player in middle position bet 12,500 into a pot of 25,000. Rogowski called.

The {3-Clubs} turn was checked again by Rogowski, and his opponent bet 25,500. Rogowski called again.

Both players checked the {8-Spades} river, and Rogowski turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, which caused his opponent to smirk a bit before mucking.

"You shove, I call, I swear to God!" Rogowski said with a chuckle as he pulled in the pot.

Ditz Eliminated by Delaney

Niveau 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Franz-Xaver Ditz was moved over from the Brasilia room and defended his big blind against a button raise by Joseph Delaney. Delaney snap-called with the {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for the flopped nut flush and the turn and river were both blanks.

Ray Romano
Ray Romano

Over on the third feature table, stand-up comedian, actor and screenwriter Ray Romano was all in with a short stack and Matteo Leibowitz looked him up to create a coin flip in the showdown.

Ray Romano: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Matteo Leibowitz: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop gave Romano a pair of queens, yet he was in need of running cards to avoid the elimination. It was all over after the {10-Clubs} turn and Romano waved goodbye as a blank came on the river.
