Defending Champion Cynn Eliminated

Niveau 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
John Cynn
John Cynn

Julian Sacks opened from under the gun and John Cynn defended his big blind.

The pair checked a {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop and the turn was the {3-Spades}. Cynn bet 22,000 and Sacks called.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Cynn bet somewhere in the region of 30,000. Sacks moved all in and Cynn called for his 60,000 or so chips.

Cynn showed {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for trip sixes but Sacks had rivered a flush with {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and the defending champion was eliminated from the 2019 Main Event.

Lu Continues to Dominate

Niveau 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Allen Lu had an extremely profitable day and just made another nice pot to add to the collection. There were four players in on a {q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades} flop and Lu was the only player to check-call Ronald Kral's 26,000 bet in position.

The pair saw an {8-Diamonds} land on the turn and once again, Lu check-called a bet, this time for 76,000. The last card out was the {8-Spades} and Lu changed tack, opting to lead for 90,000. It got an instant fold from Kral and Lu is the latest player to creep towards a 1 million-chip stack.

Kornuth Makes the Right Decision

Niveau 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Chance Kornuth was under the gun, checking to his opponent who fired 100,000 into about 160,000 on the river of the {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} board.

Kornuth tanked for a while, having around 200,000 behind. He kept shuffling a pile of calling chips for a few minutes and then he finally placed it in front of him. The other player tabled {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a whiff and Kornuth raked in the pot upon showing {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

Jaswal Busts One

Niveau 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On the three-way flop of {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Blake Bohn asked to see the stack of a shorter stack and then folded to the jam for around 75,000 while Yudhishter Jaswal snap-called.

Opponent: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Yudhishter Jaswal: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The {2-Spades} turn and the {8-Spades} river were both blanks and Jaswal claimed the chips.

Gouveia Tanks for Five Minutes to See Set over Set

Niveau 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a board reading {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts} Elilton Gouveia was deep in the tank considering an all in river bet from Olivier Chaume. The pot had about 225,000 in the middle and the shove was for roughly 230,000.

Gouveia said to himself out loud "he checked the flop" a few times while contemplating the decision. His tablemates assured him that he could take his time. After over five minutes he started to turn his cards over and at the same time put a stack in the middle to indicate a call. He turned over {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set but Chaume flipped over the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for top set to deal a crushing blow to Gouveia.
