Dodge Still Leads Main Event Despite Not Stacking in 20s

Niveau 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ryan Dodge
Ryan Dodge

On a recent pass of Ryan Dodge's table, he told us that he had 1.8 million chips. On closer examination of his chips, however, instead of clean stacks of 20, his chips were stacked in stacks of 18.

"Woah," said Dodge, counting one out. Lo and behold it was a stack of 18. "I feel like I've had a bad beat!"

Despite this 'bad beat,' Dodge still sits on almost 1.6 million in chips.

Tang Sends One Home

Niveau 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Jia Tang got in a dominating spot blind versus blind with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} against a shorter-stacked player, all in for about 90,000 with {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. The {k-}{3-}{2-} flop didn't help Tang's opponent, and the {a-} on the turn sealed his fate.

Set Over Set for 1 million Chip Pot

Niveau 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Things had been going swimmingly for Vlastimil Pustina. He had accumulated a big stack and had remained steady during the last couple of levels. That was until he lost a big pot against his friend Clayton Saliba just now.

Pustina and Saliba explained how the chips had changed hands and it all boiled down to a set v set situation. Pustina had flopped a set of deuces and Saliba turned a set of jacks, which was when they went all in. The river was a brick and Saliba is now over the 1 million mark, whilst Pustina is sent back to the drawing board.

Ingles Doubles Through Qartomy

Niveau 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Cards were on their backs in a hand between old rivals Ray Qartomy and Jared Ingles. The latter was all in from the hijack for 163,500, way ahead with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} against {3-Diamonds}{3-}. The {10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} board brought a scare for Ingles but the {9-Spades} river was safe for him.

Teltscher Survives Scary flop, Eliminates Opponent With Ladies

Niveau 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mark Teltscher

The under-the-gun player opened for 12,000 and was called by the button player. Action was on the small blind player who three-bet jammed for 77,000 and was called by Mark Teltscher from the big blind while the initial raiser and the button player folded.

Mark Teltscher: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

It was a classic race that was in Teltscher's favor until the flop came {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} giving his opponent a flush draw.

The turn brought the {9-Clubs} and Teltscher dodged all of his opponent's outs as the river fell the {4-Diamonds} and Teltscher raked in the pot.
