Event #10: $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold'em Begins at 11 a.m.

Daniel Park
Daniel Park

Welcome back to the 2021 World Series of Poker, where today promises to be full of fast and furious action.

The $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold'em Event begins at 11 a.m. PT and will play down to a winner tonight. With blinds increasing every 20 minutes, there is sure to be plenty of all ins and a flurry of bustouts as players chase not only the $300 bounty placed on every entrant but also a coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

This event has been a fixture on the schedule since 2017. In 2019, 2,452 players entered to create a prize pool of $1,471,200. It was Daniel Park who emerged the champion after 17 hours of action, defeating Erik Cajelais heads-up to win his first bracelet and $226,243.

Notables to make a deep run two years ago included James Obst, Dan O'Brien, and Dan Zack. Expect a similar mix of established pros and amateurs taking their shot at WSOP glory.

Players will begin the day with 20,000 chips. There will be a 20-minute break every six levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 21. This is a freezeout event, so if a player loses all of their chips that will be the end of their tournament.

The tournament will likely attract a field of thousands. At the end of the day, there will be only one as the event lives up to its turbo moniker.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the live updates.

Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

Jason Wheeler raised from middle position to 1,600 which prompted a call from the cut off and the small blind.

The flop came down {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and the small blind checked to Wheeler who made a continuation bet of 2,600. The cutoff called and the big blind folded.

The {3-Spades} turn was checked through, but the river of {7-Spades} saw a small bet of 1,100 from Wheeler. The cutoff player shook his head a few times before tossing in a reluctant call. Wheeler turned over {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights, but was trumped by the cutoff's {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} for a pair of aces with a jack kicker.
