Rheem Shoves and Sammartino Calls

Niveau 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

With the first day close to over, everyone folded around to Chino Rheem on the button, who pushed all in for 425,000. Dario Sammartino was the only player to call, and they both tabled their hands for a classic race.

Chino Rheem {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Dario Sammartino {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The flop came {k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and Rheem began to stand up at a {10-Clubs} dropped on the turn. The river was {k-Clubs} and Sammartino took the pot and the bounty with kings full of tens.

Ausmus and Bujtas Eliminated

Niveau 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jeremy Ausmus moved all in from late position and Cary Katz moved in from the small blind for more. Bill Klein folded the big blind and Ausmus was at risk.

Jeremy Ausmus: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Cary Katz: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}, giving Katz a set of eights, but Ausmus still had a gutshot straight draw.

It wouldn't come in though as the {3-Spades} turn and {10-Clubs} river ended his day.

Meanwhile, at an adjacent table, Laszlo Bujtas was all-in preflop against Erik Seidel.

Laszlo Bujtas: {a-}{j-}
Erik Seidel: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The board came {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, bringing Seidel a nine on the river to send Bujtas to the rail as well.

Reixach Felted by Seidel

Niveau 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Sergi Reixach
Sergi Reixach

Sergi Reixach had just 130,000 behind and pushed it all in from middle position. Erik Seidel raised to 240,000 in the cutoff and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Sergi Reixach: {k-Spades}{3-Spades}
Erik Seidel: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Reixach was behind but found a beautiful flop of {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} to vault well into the lead. The {5-Diamonds} had Seidel drawing live to a diamond that wasn't a king or a three, and that is exactly what the {9-Diamonds} river delivered to bust Reixach late on Day 1.

Ivey's Flush Good Against Reixach

Niveau 11 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

With a board of {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Sergi Reixach bet 40,000 from the big blind and Phil Ivey called from the button.

When the {5-Clubs} came on the turn, Reixach continued for 55,000 and Ivey called.

The river brought the {7-Hearts}, and Reixach went big with a bet of 425,000. It didn't take long for Ivey to call, and both players turned over their cards.

Reixach had {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for two pair, but it couldn't beat Ivey's turned flush with {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Sammartino Wins Pot from Rheem, or Does He?

Niveau 11 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Action was picked up on a four-way flop of {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} with 225,000 in the middle.

Chino Rheem checked in the small blind, Dario Sammartino checked his big blind, and Daniel Negreanu bet 75,000 from early position.

After that, Ali Imsirovic called in late position and Rheem and Sammartino also called.

On the {4-Hearts} turn, after Rheem checked, Sammartino took the betting lead, putting forward 160,000. Negreanu and Imsirovic folded, but Rheem called.

The river brought the {9-Hearts} and after Rheem checked, Sammartino bet 365,000.

Rheem went into the tank grabbing a time bank card to his right and flicking it in before eventually making a call just before a minute had expired.

Sammartino showed {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for winning trip fours. Rheem mucked his cards, but then realized it wasn't actually his time bank he had tossed in, it was his neighbor to his right, Dan Shak's. In fact, Rheem had no time banks left.

The floor was called over to determine whether Rheem's river call stood, because his action came after the 30 seconds allowed without actually having a time bank of his own.

The floor ruled that the mistake was just that, but the action had to stand and Rheem's chips would go to Sammartino.

Rheem understood the ruling and graciously accepted the decision.

Young Knocks Out Kenney

Niveau 11 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Justin Young raised to 50,000 from the button, and Bryn Kenney pushed all in for around 300,000 and Young made a swift call.

Bryn Kenney {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Justin Young {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The flop was {q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, leaving Kenney with a gutshot, but the {k-Spades} turn and {k-Clubs} river would send the pot and Kenney's bounty over to Young.

Young Busts Hunichen, Doubles Through Bujtas

Niveau 11 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Justin Young opened in early position and was faced with an all in from Chris Hunichen in the cutoff for 245,000. Action folded back around to Young, who called to put Hunichen at risk.

Chris Hunichen: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Justin Young: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

It was a race but Young came out on top following the {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Spades} runout.

Just a couple of hands later Young found himself all in and at risk preflop against Laszlo Bujtas.

Justin Young: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Laszlo Bujtas: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Young was once again involved in a coin flip needing to hold against two over cards and did so courtesy of the {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} runout.
