Ruben Chips Up in Showdown Against Silver

Niveau 12 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Nate Silver: {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} / {4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Brad Ruben: {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} / {8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Following a bet by Brad Ruben with a pair of eights and potential low board showing on sixth street, Eric Rodawig sent his cards into the muck. Nate Silver called and both then checked with Silver checking behind.

Ruben showed nines and eights, to which Silver exposed a missed low and straight draw.

More for Fuchs; Igwe No More

Niveau 12 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

Carol Fuchs: {x-}{x-} / {4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs} / {x-}
Ian Johns: {x-}{x-} / {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} / {x-}

A short-stacked Carol Fuchs was involved in a heads-up tussle with table neighbour Ian Johns. When she caught a pair of tens on sixth, she bet and Johns called. Fuchs bet again the final street and Johns folded after brief consolation.

That left Wilson Igwe as the shortest stack on the table and he was eliminated shortly thereafter by Robert Mizrachi.

Yockey Gaining More Ground

Limit Hold'em

Bryce Yockey and Shirley Rosario were in a battle of the blinds on a flop showing {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Yockey check-called a bet from Rosario to the {10-Clubs} turn, and did the same to the {10-Hearts} river.

Yockey then check-raised Rosario on the river, producing a fold to take it down.

On the very next hand, Yockey got two streets of value from Mike Matusow after flopping a straight on the {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} runout. Yockey turned over {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} after being called on the river, adding more chips to his growing stack.

Monnette and Ivey on the Rail

Niveau 12 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

The cards were all scooped up as Ben Yu dragged in the pot with what appeared to be at least a pair of aces in a Seven Card Stud hand to eliminate Phil Ivey. On the way out, Ivey was greeted with a "hey Phil, do you want to double it?" by Eric Wasserson.

Apparently, ten minutes ago Wasserson had bet with Ivey for an undisclosed amount in a last longer competition including himself versus Ivey, John Monnette and Amnon Filippi. Since Monnette also busted, it is now one versus one.

"But Phil is clever, he will probably bet me something to get the money back easily," Wasserson concluded.

There is also another last longer competition running in this tournament as well. As usual organised by Allen Kessler, it attracted 49 entrants in total who are all competing for an additional boost to their bankroll and around half of them are still in the mix.

Long Hits the River

Niveau 12 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Philip Long raised from early position and was called by Anthony Zinno in the big blind.

Zinno checked called after the {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, and raised a bet from Long on the {5-Diamonds} turn. Long called to see Zinno lead on the {q-Clubs} river.

After a moment, Long raised and Zinno sighed as he tossed in the call. Long showed {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush on the river, while Zinno flashed a straight as he tossed his cards to the dealer.

Grigorian Eliminated in Three-Way Pot

Chris Grigorian
Chris Grigorian

Omaha Hi-Lo

Following a button raise by Kristijonas Andrulis and Andre Akkari coming along in the small blind, Chris Grigorian was all-in from the big blind for a very short stack and both opponents stuck around.

Akkari check-called bets by Andrulis on the {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop and {6-Clubs} turn. Another check-call by Akkari on the {5-Spades} river followed and all cards were revealed.

Akkari tabled the {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a straight to the six for the high portion of the pot while Andrulis had {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the wheel as he took the low. Grigorian only had the {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and was sent to the rail.
