Morciano improved on the flop but was still behind until the turn gave him trips. The river improved him to a full house for good measure, and the pot and double up was his.

Charles Mitchell, who registered for the event just 11 days after turning 50, opened to 275,000 from early position.
Steven Butler, from the button, went all in. Mitchell, who had 420,000 less than Butler, made the call.
Charles Mitchell:
Steven Butler:
Upon seeing the bad news, Butler was openly frustrated with himself: "That's what happens when you go card dead, you make terrible decisions the first real hand you see."
The board ran eight-high and Mitchell doubled up to exactly four million, leaving Butler with a little less than four big blinds.

Action folded around to Kathy Liebert on the button. She put in a raise to 300,000. Brian Topp, the small blind, thought for a moment before moving all in.
"I'm gonna need a count" Liebert told the dealer. That count came to 1,565,000. "So 1.2 more. I got 13, and that's 1.2 more. I think I can afford that," Liebert said to herself. "What do you think?" she asked Topp, not really looking for an answer. "I'm feeling lucky. I can afford it." Liebert repeated as she counted out her calling chips and put them in the middle.
Brian Topp:
Kathy Liebert:
Liebert was ahead, and the runout offered no help to Topp. Liebert scooped the pot while Topp headed for the rail.
"Lotta punting going on," Liebert said after the hand. "I thought he had two overs. I thought I'd be a slight favorite or flipping, I didn't expect to be a big favorite."

Herman Reynolds, who was one of the largest stacks in the room all day, open-shoved for 2,750,000 (27.5 big blinds) from the button.
Kathy Liebert, who was second in chips at the dinner break, pondered the decision before making the call from the big blind.
Herman Reynolds:
Kathy Liebert:
Liebert was far behind and the flop had her drawing to just two jacks and running hearts.
The table was stunned when the hit the table, making Liebert a 95% favorite.
The hit the river and Liebert added piles to her massive stack and can now say she's on the hunt for her second bracelet.

Liebert, who is already a member of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame, is one of three new 2022 finalists for the Poker Hall of Fame.

Steven Himebaugh:
Domenico Scalamogna:
Himebaugh was ahead, but the flop gave Scalamogna a pair, although Himebaugh did pick up a flush draw. The turn changed nothing, and Himebaugh began pleading for a diamond on the river. His wish was granted, as the river gave him a flush, and the double up.
