Svenson Back Over Three Million on Rollercoaster Day 3

Niveau 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Cheryl Svenson
Cheryl Svenson

After being one of the biggest stacks of the tournament to being on fumes after running ace-king into kings twice, Cheryl Svenson has remarkably spun her stack back up to over three million.

After hitting quad sevens in a previous all-in situation, she was able to flop a set of nines against ace-king and eliminated Bradley Cohen.

"Miracle" River Sees Aces Cracked, Titeca Move to Over Three Million

Niveau 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

A wild three-way all in took place over in the silver section of Bally's, with Edwin Chang and Pierre Titeca both at risk against David Lackey in a pot worth 3,200,000 total.

Edwin Chang: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Pierre Titeca: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
David Lackey: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Titeca was begging for a miracle and the {k-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} flop gave him eight outs to a win. The {q-Diamonds} turn also gave the Belgian two additional outs to his a straight, which left Lackey with no chance to win the main pot.

The river was the {q-Spades}, sending Titeca to his knees and thanking the poker gods for a miracle while Chang was left both flabbergasted and eliminated.

Titeca told the table that he had just texted his wife before the flop was dealt that he would be home in a few minutes unless he picked up a major miracle. Miracle delivered.

Aces Love Liebert

Niveau 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Kathy Liebert
Kathy Liebert

Mike Landers opened from early position for 200. Valerii Lubenets made the call from the small blind before Kathy Liebert reraised to 680,000 in the big blind. Landers moved all in with about 2,000,000 behind. Lubenets folded before Liebert made the call with Landers covered.

Mike Landers: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Kathy Liebert: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Liebert was out in front, and the {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} runout did nothing to change that. While the dealer counted each players stack to make sure that Landers was indeed covered, Liebert told PokerNews that this was her fourth time getting pocket aces today.

"I was running bad before. I know it's a bad time to say that," Liebert shared.

"It's a very bad time to say that, as your stacking millions of chips," Carol Fuchs chimed in from across the table.

"I was running bad," Liebert reiterated, "Last night, I lost with top set, with middle set, it's true!"

Liebert's fortunes seem to have changed so far in Day 3, as she continues the pursuit of her second bracelet.

Panagatos Doubles Through Petts

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

A pot worth nearly three million chips was up for grabs between Mark Petts and Danny Panagatos.

Danny Panagatos: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Mark Petts: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Panagatos was barely ahead and enjoyed a beautiful {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop to give himself an open-ended straight draw and denied Petts the opportunity to hit a flush.

The {j-Spades} turn gave Panagatos the straight and now needed to avoid one of the two remaining nines to scoop.

The river came the {k-Spades}. With Petts' pair not being enough, Panagatos was able to stay alive and give himself a pot worth nearly 50 big blinds.

Donato Doubles Up with Kings Over Queens

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Giovanni Di Donato moved all in from the hijack with 1,480,000 behind. Action folded around to Jan Pettersson in the big blind who made the call with Donato covered.

Giovanni Di Donato: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Jan Pettersson: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Donato was already ahead, but had Pettersson dominated when the {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{k-Spades} flop gave him a set and left Pettersson drawing thin, needing running queens or running spades in order to get the pot and knockout. The {3-Clubs} turn ensured that would not happen before the {9-Spades} river completed the board. Donato scooped the pot with his set of kings and doubled his stack.

Fones Dials Up Nines, Eliminates Barnhart

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

With each player committing nearly 1,000,000 into the pot, Hollis Barnhart was at-risk against John Fones.

Hollis Barnhart: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
John Fones: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

In a true flip, the flop came {6-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Spades} to give Barnhart a flush draw in addition to his two overs.

The {10-Clubs} pushed the odds in Fones' favor, with the {k-Clubs} completing the board to send Fones' stack over three million.
