Phimmasone Doubles Up

Niveau 6

Big O

The chips were in the middle on a flop of {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} with Anoput Phimmasone at risk for 20,200 in the cutoff against the big blind.

Anoput Phimmasone: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Big Blind: {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Phimmasone had a flush draw while the big blind had two pair and an up and down straight draw. The {10-Clubs} on the turn gave Phimmasone a flush and the double-up as the big blind couldn't boat up on the river as the {4-Clubs} was a brick.

Salazar Scores an Unlikely Double

Niveau 6

Big O

2021 runner-up Hernan Salazar was on the verge of having to head to the re-entry desk as he was all in on a {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop for his last 4,300 against Benjamin Francisco.

Hernan Salazar: {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Benjamin Francisco: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and with Francisco missing his low draw, Salazar was able to scoop the pot with just his pair of fives.

Big O

On a turn board of {q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}, Daniel Negreanu check-called a bet of 3,500 from Shaun Rice on the button.

The river brought the {j-Hearts} and this time Negreanu led out for 7,500.

Rice took a moment, then folded {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} face-up along with his other three cards, sending the pot to Negreanu.

Thurber Building a Stack

Niveau 5

Big O

After Laurette Thurber raised in middle position over an under the gun limp, the small blind called as did the original limper.

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades}, the small blind moved all in for his last 4,200, with Thurber the only customer.

Thurber showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}, and as the dealer turned the {j-Hearts} to give her a full house, the small blind mucked his hand with the {q-Hearts} coming on the river.

Train Wreck At Table 67

Niveau 5

Big O

Four players went all-in on a flop of {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. The under the gun player, Gerard Paglicua on the button, the small blind, and Scott Stinson in the big blind. The under-the-gun player had the other three covered.

Small Blind: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Gerard Pagliuca: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Scott Stinson: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Under The Gun: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

The small blind had middle set, Pagliuca had bottom set, Stinson had two pair and under the gun had a wrap along with top pair.

The {5-Diamonds} on the turn gave flush opportunities for the small blind and under the gun, but also gave low opportunities for Stinson and straight outs for Pagliuca.

The {6-Hearts} on the river gave Stinson the nut low and Pagliuca the six-high straight to chop the main pot of 46,000 and eliminated the small blind.

The under-the-gun player whiffed the turn and river and Stinson's kings and nines took the 15,300 side pot. Leaving the under the gun player with only 2,000 chips

Lin Trying New Games, Gets Three-Quarters

Niveau 5
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Ren Lin, who told the PokerNews reporting team that he's trying new games today in the Omaha mix is holding his own so far.

In a recent four-way pot, Lin limped in middle position, as did the button, Kao Saechao in the small blind and a player in the big blind.

After the flop and turn were checked through on a completed board of {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{a-Clubs}, Lin bet the pot (1,500) on the river and was met by an all-in raise from the button for a bit over 4,000.

Saechao and the big blind folded and Lin made the call.

The button showed {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} for the nut low and a pair of deuces. Lin tabled {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for the nut low as well, but with a pair of sixes to get the high end of the pot to take three-quarters from his short-stacked opponent.

Tanita Busts Ohel

Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better

On a board of {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Randy Ohel was all in for 13,000 from the small blind. Robert Tanita in the cutoff was left with the decision to either call or fold.

Tanita muttered to themselves "what a stupid river!" and made a somewhat reluctant call. Ohel announced they had two pair revealing {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for kings and nines. Tanita tabled {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Spades} for a set of twos.

Neither player had a qualifying low hand so Tanita took the whole pot and eliminated Ohel in the process. Ohel immediately used one of his available re-entries and is back in the field.
