John Racener: XxXx / 10Q96 folded on sixth street
Hal Rotholz: XxXx / Q3QQ

Racener completed with a ten and called a raise by Hal Rotholz from the next seat. Racener check-called a bet and then called on fifth street when Rotholz picked up a pair of queens to bet with. On sixth street, Rotholz made open trips queens and Racener snap-folded.

"That's just like the last hand where he had nothing," Racener groaned.

Arieh Takes Both Halves

Niveau 14

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Dzmitry Urbanovich opened from under the gun and was called by Josh Arieh in the big blind.

Arieh checked following the J58 flop and then raised after Urbanovich continued. The Polish pro did make the call to send action to the turn.

The 3 turn saw Arieh continue his aggression with another bet. Again, Urbanovich called.

On the 6 river, Arieh pushed one last bet into the middle and then showed down 101074 after he was called. Urbanovich took a few moments to study the board and Arieh's hand before mucking his own.

Wasserson Eliminated by Ashton and Shakerchi

Eric Wasserson

Stud Hi-Lo

Eric Wasserson: Q84/42A4
Matthew Ashton: KKJ/J72K
Talal Shakerchi: 8XxXx/A257

After Eric Wasserson completed, Matthew Ashton made it two bets to go, which Talal Shakerchi called, as did Wasserson to put himself all in.

On fourth and fifth streets, Ashton called bets from Shakerchi, and then they checked sixth street. Ashton bet seventh and got a call from Shakerchi.

Wasserson was hopeful that he'd survive with his trip fours for high, but that was crushed by Ashton's full house to eliminate Wasserson, while Shakerchi's low got him that half of the pot.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Elior Sion raised and earned a call from Kristopher Tong in the cutoff. Josh Arieh then made it three bets on the button and Sion moved all-in for 92,000 total. Tong called the all-in to then also call a reraise by Arieh for another 25,000 on top.

Arieh exposed his AK103 for the king-high flush while Tong flipped over 5432 for the nut low.

Sion briefly tossed his AAJ5 for a set of aces to the middle of the table before heading to the rail.

Becker Rebuilds Through Ashton

Johannes Becker
Johannes Becker

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

After Johannes Becker raised under the gun, Matthew Ashton three-bet in the hijack. Becker called and then drew two cards, while Ashton took one.

Becker checked to Ashton, who bet, but then Becker came back with a check-raise. Ashton was having none of that however, putting in a third bet, which Becker called.

The players then patted their hands and Becker then check-called another bet from Ashton.

They patted again on the final draw, and once more Becker check-called a bet from Ashton.

"Eighty-five," declared Ashton, which was music to Becker's ears as he fanned 7x6x5x4x2x to beat Ashton's eight-perfect and take the pot.

Phil Galfond Offers Poker Hall of Fame Pick; Says Two Should Be Inducted Per Year

Niveau 14

Phil Galfond has yet to make an appearance at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP), and as he told PokerNews, right now he has no plans to play live.

“But who knows, plans change,” added Galfond, who has been playing online at WSOP.com.

While Galfond hasn’t been at the WSOP – well, at least Phil as his wife, Farah Galfond, has been competing – the three-time bracelet winner is still weighing in by his relatively new newsletter “PG’s Takes of the Week.”

One of the topics the online poker legend, who prior to the WSOP inserted himself in some drama involving Doug Polk and Charlie Carrel with a pointed letter, was that of the Poker Hall of Fame. Right now, the public is being solicited for nomination.

“The nominations for the Poker Hall of Fame are now open, presenting voters with a familiar dilemma: there are simply too many great options to choose from,” Galfond wrote before giving his picks.
