Wang and Yankov Among the Big Stacks

Niveau 9 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a heads-up turn of Q62A, Krasimir Yankov checked and Yang Wang bet the pot for 119,000. Yankov gave it some consideration and folded.

Wang then raised to 20,000 and earned a call from Richard Gryko. The KJ8 flop saw Wang bet 45,000 and Gryko let go.

Wang and Yankov are the two biggest stacks at the table which no longer includes Josh Arieh.

Four players went to a flop of 9K3 when Cary Katz, under the gun, moved all in for 221,000.

Two opponents quickly folded. "One more to go," a hopeful Katz said as action went on Shaun Deeb on the button. Deeb used up two time banks before he called.

Cary Katz: A432
Shaun Deeb: AK42

"We share the same cards," Deeb said as he was ahead with a pair of kings but needed to fade Katz's flush draw. The board ran out 76 and Katz missed everything.

"You always bust me," Katz said as he watched his chips absorbed into Deeb's stack.

"That's about the worst hand you could see," Deeb replied.

Smith Pots on Emmerson

Niveau 9 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Robert Emmerson and Tyler Smith went to a flop of 284 when Emmerson, in the hijack, bet 55,000.

Smith considered the decision for a moment before piling up the rest of his chips and sliding the tower into the middle, a bet totaling 288,000.

Emmerson quickly folded as Smith took the pot.

Despite that hit, Emmerson is still sitting on a stack of more than 1,000,000 and is one of the chip leaders at the moment.

Ausmus Sends Lonis Deep Into the Tank

Niveau 8 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Jesse Lonis and Jeremy Ausmus were heads-up on a flop of A810 with a massive pile of chips already in the middle when Ausmus made a pot-sized bet of 250,000.

Lonis immediately tossed in all of his time bank cards as he considered the decision for his tournament life. He spent the next several minutes constantly rechecking his cards and looking over at Ausmus. "I've got outs," Lonis said before he eventually called after three minutes, 20 seconds had run off his shot clock.

He showed QJ1010 for a set of tens, while Ausmus had A1098 for two pair. The board ran out Q5 and Lonis breathed a sigh of relief after doubling up for 191,000.

"Did you get slow-rolled over there, Jeremy?" Chance Kornuth yelled over from another table.

"Yeah. Just kidding," Ausmus joked, taking the beat in stride.

"Maybe nit-rolled," Lonis added.

No Call For Duek

Niveau 8 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

In three-way action to the river, Farhad Jamasi and defending champion Robert Cowen checked a board of 95364. Michael Duek bet 70,000 and Jamasi quickly folded. Cowen gave it brief consideration and then folded, too, but not before exposing the 8 face up.

"I was going for the middle," Cowen said.

"Micky in the Middle," Erick Lindgren replied.

Defending champion Cowen and last year's runner-up Dash Dudley share the same table and both have decent stacks.
