Shakerchi Draws Two, Rast's Pat No Good

Niveau 4

2-7 Triple Draw

Talal Shakerchi opened in the cutoff before Brian Rast three-bet on the button. Shakerchi flatted.

The first draw saw Shakerchi take two while Rast chose to stand pat. Shakerchi then checked to Rast who bet, only to see Shakerchi put in a raise. Rast just called.

Neither player took a card on the second draw with action then going check-check to send the two players to the final draw.

Shakerchi again stood pat and, after some consideration, Rast did the same before calling a bet from Shakerchi. Rast mucked after Shakerchi turned over 7x6x5x3x2x to take a hit to his stack, which has hovered under the 100,000 mark for quite some time.

Thung Forces Out Elezra

Niveau 4
Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra

2-7 Triple Draw

David Benyamine raised and Roy Thung made it three bets. Eli Elezra called in the big blind and Benyamine also called.

Elezra drew two, while the others both drew one. It checked to Thung who bet and got two calls.

The draws repeated and each player checked.

Each player drew one and Elezra bet. Benyamine folded and Thung raised. Elezra thought about it before letting his hand go into the muck.

"You paired?" Elezra asked Benyamine, who nodded. "Eights?" Benyamine nodded again.

"I made a ten," said Elezra. "I should have check-called."

Coleman Leaves Rast Short

Niveau 4

2-7 Triple Draw

Maxx Coleman raised on the button and Talal Shakerchi called in the small blind. Brian Rast made it three bets to go from the big blind and Coleman put four bets in. Shakerchi got out of the way and Rast capped it at five bets. Coleman called.

Rast stood pat and Coleman drew one. Coleman then called a bet from Rast.

Both players remained pat and checked down the rest of the way and Rast announced he had an eight.

Coleman said he held an eight as well and fanned out 8x7x5x3x2x. Rast showed he held 8x7x6x and mucked — awarding the pot to Coleman and leaving Rast short once again.

Rast Doubles Through Lindgren

Niveau 4

No-Limit Hold'em

Erick Lindgren limped from the hijack and Talal Shakerchi limped along on the button. Brian Rast then shoved for his last 29,000 from the small blind. Lindgren called to put Rast at risk and Shakerichi got out of the way.

Brian Rast: 77All in
Erick Lindgren: 22

The 3J7 flop gave Rast an almost insurmountable lead and the KJ runout needlessly improved Rast to a full house for the much-needed double up.

Wilkinson Gets Value With a Double Check-Raise

Niveau 4

Pot-Limit Omaha

Naoya Kihara raised to 8,500 on the button and Viktor Blom defended the big blind. On the A109 flop, both players checked. Both checked the 6 turn as well as the 7 river and Blom's A943 for two pair won the pot.

Paul Volpe raised the next button to 6,500 and Gus Hansen came along from the big blind. They checked the J53 flop before Hansen bet the 3 turn for 8,500 and the 7 river for 22,000. Volpe called the first bet and reluctantly folded to the last bet.

Limit Hold'em

The game variant changed and Alexander Wilkinson raised, Kihara three-bet and Wilkinson called. On a A87 flop, Wilkinson check-called before he then check-raised the 5 turn as well as the 5 river.

Kihara called both times and mucked to the A8 of Wilkinson.

Weisman Picks Off Rocco's Bluff

Niveau 4

No-Limit Hold'em

Michael Rocco opened to 6,000 on the button and was called by Dylan Weisman in the small blind and John Racener in the big blind.

Action checked through the 53K flop to the 7 turn at which point Weisman led out for 8,000. Racener folded while Rocco called.

The 7 river paired the board and saw Weisman bet 5,000. Rocco responded with a raise to 37,000 which Weisman snapped off holding 88, good enough to win the pot.

Katz into the Chip Lead

Niveau 4

No-Limit Hold'em

"Are you going to be dressing up this year Jungle?" Benny Glaser asked Dan Cates. "Some sort of costume?"

"I'm wearing one," replied Jungle, although he was clearly wearing ordinary clothes. "Aren't we all wearing a costume of sorts?"

"Jungle has a long history in this tournament," added Aaron Katz. "Won it twice and also bust to [Mark] Gregorich with ace-king."

Katz was referring to a hand from the 2017 PPC where Cates was the first player to bust after five-bet shoving over 200 big blinds with ace-king into the pocket aces of Mark Gregorich.

Meanwhile, Katz had check-called bets of 20,000 and 45,000 on a board of 109310 from Seth Gottlieb, and the river was the 10. Katz checked and Gottlieb bet 90,000.

Katz tanked well into the break before calling. Gottlieb flung 54 face up and Katz took down the pot with A9 for a full house.
