Rast Loses the Rest

Talal Shakerchi opened from middle position and Brian Rast moved his last few chips into the middle from the cutoff. Erick Lindgren called in the big blind to put Rast officially at risk while Shakerchi also called.

Lindgren led out on the A♠9♥K♣ flop. Shakerchi flatted.

The same betting pattern was repeated following the 6♦ turn with Shakerchi and Lindgren checking to showdown on the 8♠ river.

Rast tabled A♦8♦6♣3♣ but could not win the high half of the pot as Shakerchi held K♥J♠4♥3♠ while Lindgren had A♣J♥9♠2♠ to send him to the rail on Day 1, ensuring there will be no back to back champion this year.

The flop was 9♥9♦6♥ and Coleman checked. Arieh continued for 10,000 and Lindgren was the only caller.

Arieh check-called 18,000 on the 5♠ turn and the river was the Q♠. Both players checked.

"Is that any good?" Arieh said, exposing 8♥7♥ for a straight.

"It's a good start," replied Lindgren who mucked, allowing Arieh to show the rest of his hand: Q♣Q♥ for a full house.

Eslami stood pat and Yitzhaki drew one. Eslami then checked and Yitzhaki fired 42,000 into the middle.

Eslami laid his hand down after a bit of thought and Yitzhaki collected the pot.

Both players took two cards on the first draw before checking through to the second draw where they each again drew two. Rheem led out and Li called.

Rheem stood pat on the final draw while Li opted to take one after which Rheem bet. Li responded with a raise which Rheem, with a slight sigh as if he knew what was coming, called. Li announced eighty-six as he turned over 8x6x4x3x2x to win a healthy pot off of Rheem.

Daher appeared to have bet the pot, with Racener having a sizeable raise of 225,000 sat in front of him.

Daher deliberated, muttering "I have a very big fucking hand" to himself under his breath before folding.

"Show the bluff one fucking time," said Eric Wasserson, with Racener showing K♥K♣10♠8♦ for top set, albeit with the king of hearts.
