Steven van Zadelhoff Keeps Stacking

Niveau 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

With about 2,000 in the pot on a board reading {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, the players in the small and big blinds checked. Steven van Zadelhoff was in middle position and bet 1,300. The small blind called and the big blind paused for a moment before check-raising to 3,800. Van Zadelhoff called and the small blind folded.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked to the {j-Clubs} on the river. The big blind checked again, and van Zadelhoff bet 3,600. His opponent tanked for a while before eventually releasing his hand.

Van Zadelhoff is now sitting on triple the starting stack midway through Day 1a.

John Beauprez bet 15,000 on a completed board of {6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. There was about 24,000 already in the pot, and Beauprez didn't look to have much more than 10,000 back. His opponent on the button tanked awhile and folded.

On the four-way flop of {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Tara Snow bet 1,800 in the small blind and was called by Gregory Geller, Chris George, and the player in the hijack. The {A-Clubs} turn didn't slow down Snow, as she made it 4,000 to go, and this time it was just George that called.

Both checked the {4-Hearts} river and Snow turned over {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} to claim the pot as George folded.

Demers' Aces Get Cracked, Sent to the Rail

Niveau 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

With around 10,000 in the middle and the board reading {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}, Alex Fortin Demers led out for 6,000 from the small blind. Clyde Gaskins was in the cutoff and raised to 20,000. Demers made the call and they were off to the river.

The {3-Clubs} landed on the river and Demers checked to Gaskins who moved all in. Demers had around 28,000 remaining and Gaskins had him covered. Demers went into the tank for around five minutes, definitely finding himself in a tough spot. His hat came off and he scratched his head, played with his chips, and sat with a puzzled look on his face. Demers finally grabbed a stack of chips and placed it into the pot.

Gaskins tabled {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a set of tens and Demers was forced to show his hand of {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Demers was eliminated from the tournament while Gaskins exploded out of his chair. Gaskins let out a couple bursts of excitement as he jumped around a couple of the tables. Once he sat back in his seat, he composed himself and starting stacking his newly found chips.
