One for Ramage

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Grayson Ramage raised to 1,800 from the cutoff, the player on the button called, and the player in the small blind called.

The flop came down {Q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and action checked to Ramage who continued for 2,500. Only the player in the small blind called, the turn was the {5-Clubs}, and both players checked. The {10-Spades} river completed the board, the small blind checked, Ramage bet 11,000, and after a few moments his opponent folded.

Helppi With a Four-bet

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

The action was folded around to the cutoff who raised 1,800. The button made a three-bet to 6,000 and the action was on Juha Helppi in the small blind. Helppi thought for a bit and then threw out a four-bet of 15,000. The cutoff quickly folded and the button took some time but found a fold as well.

Leonard Chips Up Without Showdown

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

In a three-bet pot, four players invested 6,100 apiece, heading to a flop of {J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Patrick Leonard checked from under the gun and Mark Zullo did so from the hijack. The player in the cutoff bet 6,500 and Jett Schencker on the button announced a raise to 18,000. Leonard squeezed to 40,000 and that forced folds from all opponents to let the Brit chip up without showdown.

Gee Loses Some

Steve Gee
Steve Gee

With about 6,000 chips already in the middle on a flop of {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, one player checked from middle position, the cutoff bet 2,300, and Steve Gee called from the button after some consideration. The middle-position player folded and the turn brought the {8-Diamonds}. The cutoff bet again, 5,100 this time, and Gee tossed his cards into the muck.

"Act of God" Gives Grafton the Chip Lead

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton is currently sitting on a chip stack that amounts to 411,500. Good for the current tournament chip lead.

Our PokerNews reporter headed over to Grafton's table to find out exactly what led to Grafton claiming the current chip lead.

"Owning noobs!" announced Doug Polk who is seated on Grafton's left.

Grafton explained that he held {10-}{9-} on a {6-}{7-}{8-} flop against Ronnie Brown's {9-}{9-}. The turn and river ran out the {5-} and {4-} and Grafton won a huge pot through Brown.

"Basically it was an act of God!" added Grafton.

"You know that picture in the Sistine Chapel? Well I'm the guy that God is touching with his finger!" continued Grafton.

Grafton was referring to the Michelangelo painting on the roof of the Sistine Chapel titled, The Creation of Adam.

Benoit Albiges Goes Through the Highs & Lows

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Benoit Albiges and his opponent got all of their chips in the middle preflop and Albiges couldn't be happier about it. He turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} while his opponent showed {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

The flop came [khjshd] and Albiges was suddenly way behind as his opponent flopped a full house. His opponent let out a loud "Yes!" and clapped his hands, but there were still two cards to come.

The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and just like that, Albiges was back out in front with a bigger full house. His opponent would need to catch the one remaining king in the deck. The river was the {9-Spades} and Albiges would take down the pot. After the chips were all counted Albiges had his opponent covered by a mere 2,000 chips.

Richard Gryko Cracks Robert Coble's Aces With Kings

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Robert Coble had opened the action from early position and Richard Gryko three-bet to 6,000 from middle position. A player in late position called, and Coble four-bet to 17,000. Gryko thought for a moment and moved all in for about 115,000. The player in late position folded and Coble couldn't get his chips in the middle fast enough.

Coble was at risk and miles ahead with {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}, up against Gryko's {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Gryko took a commanding lead with a set of kings. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river as the {6-Spades}, sending a visibly shell-shocked Coble to the rail after he started the day with 155,500 chips.

Locatelli Doubles

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

After a raise by Raffaello Locatelli and a call by a player in late position, Nicholas Howard three-bet out of the blinds. Locatelli four-bet all in and that forced out the third player in the hand. Howard called and put Locatelli at risk.

Raffaello Locatelli: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Nicholas Howard: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Locatelli jumped up to celebrate, moving back to the stack he started with into Day 1a. The third player in the hand said "why didn't you just call? I had pocket tens." Locatellite replied "I can't just call, but thank you for not calling."

Jon Turner Grinding on the Short Stack

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

We caught up with Jon Turner involved in a pot with one other player on a board of {2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}. There was about 4,000 in the pot and Turner checked over to his opponent who was in position and bet 1,200. Turner called.

Both players checked on the {K-Clubs} turn and the {Q-Spades} river. Turner showed {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and that was good to take down the pot.

Even after taking down that pot, Turner is still left with a relatively short stack of just over 20,000 chips.
