The Polychronopoulos Defense

Niveau 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Eric Wasserson opened with a raise to 1,800 from middle position and he was called by Athanasios Polychronopoulos who defended from the big blind.

On the {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} flop both players checked to see the {A-Spades} on the turn. Polychronopoulos checked again, but this time Wasserson bet 2,000. Polychronopoulos called.

On the {4-Spades} river both players checked it down. Polychronopoulos showed {9-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a flush and Wasserson held on to his cards a bit before mucking. That allowed Polychronopoulos to take down the small pot.

Both players are sporting healthy stacks with Wasserson holding one of the largest in the room.
