Assuré d'un gain de 16,958$, Fabrice Soulier est toujours en piste pour un deuxième bracelet WSOP. Le Français fait partie des 17 survivants de l'Event #9 Championship Omaha Hi/lo à 10 000$ l'entrée.
La tâche s'annonce ardue pour le tricolore qui est 11e du classement provisoire et avec peu de profondeur mais tout va très vite dans les épreuves de variantes. Il faudra surtout faire face à des spécialistes puisque Daniel Negreanu ou le chipleader Abe Mosseri ont une expérience immense.

Le Jour 2 avait démarré avec 64 joueurs pour 24 places payées. Vyacheslav Zhukov, Frank Kessela, Brock Parker, Andrey Zaichenko, Marco Johnson, Matt Glantz, et Tom Koral ont sauté avant l'argent tout comme le tenant du titre Benny Glaser ou Randy Ohel et Jeff Lisandro. Abe Mosseri raised under the gun, Dan Shak called in early position and Ilya Dyment called on the button. Mike Matusow came along in the big blind, making it four ways to the flop.
