Another Bad Beat Sends Vaitiekunas to the Rail

Niveau 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Paulius Vaitiekunas
Paulius Vaitiekunas

Julien Martini opened to 35,000 and was called by David "ODB" Baker on his left. Paulius Vaitiekunas was next to act and shoved all in for 388,000. The action was back on Martini who re-shoved all in and Baker went into the tank before finally folding.

Julien Martini: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Paulius Vaitiekunas: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Vaitiekunas was in a dominating position to double up but the flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} gave Martini an open-ended straight draw. The {6-Diamonds} on the river completed the straight and the {8-Hearts} completed the board. It was the second brutal beat that Vaitikunas took this level and the start-of-day chipleader was eliminated

Jachtmann Flushes Levi

Niveau 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Shahar Levi
Shahar Levi

In a four-way limped pot to the {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, Jan-Peter Jachtmann checked with {9-Spades}{3-Spades} out of the small blind and Anton Morgenstern did so with {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} in the big blind.

Shahar Levi with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} in early position bet 32,000 and Rifat Palevic folded {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} on the button. Jachtmann raised to 90,000 to force out Morgenstern and Levi then shoved for 331,000 total. Jachtmann asked for a count and reluctantly called with his flush draw.

The {9-Clubs} turn gave Jachtmann more outs with his pair, and the {4-Spades} river improved him to a flush.

Artur Jarek
Artur Jarek

One hand after the elimination of Karl-Theodor Schoepf, the next player ended up all in and at risk over on table 80 as Artur Jarek was all in for 112,000 against Pierre Mothes.

Artur Jarek: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Pierre Mothes: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The classic flip was all but over on the {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop as Jarek needed running cards for a straight or full house to avoid the elimination. After the {6-Diamonds} turn he was drawing dead and bumped fists with Mothes as soon as the {10-Clubs} river had completed the board.
