Table 47 is shaping up to be one of the interesting tables in the room, as Sam 'SamSquid' Grafton and Byron Kaverman sat down at the table with Dominik Nitsche and Andreas Hoivold.

November Niner Vojtech Ruzicka in the Field

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades} and it checked to 2016 November Niner Vojtech Ruzicka. He finished 45th in the EPT Barcelona Main Event two years ago, and will be looking for a good run in preparation for his trip back to Vegas in a couple of months' time.

Ruzicka bet 2,150 and his opponent called. The turn was the {j-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {3-Hearts} and this time his opponent lead for 3,200. Ruzicka quickly called. His opponent tabled {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} but Ruzicka quickly turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and started gathering the chips to add to his stack.

Lynskey Takes from Benitez

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Alexander Lynskey cashed six times at the 2016 World Series of Poker and the biggest score of the Australian came earlier this year on home soil. Lynskey finished 4th in the 2016 Aussie Millions Poker Championship Main Event, for a payday of A$ 445,000.

Lynskey just got involved in a bigger hand with table neighbor Francisco Benitez and the duo headed to the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs} river. Benitez bet 5,300 out of the small blind and Lynskey then raised to 15,000 from the button.

Benitez folded and was shown the {5-Diamonds} by Lynskey, who raked in the pot while enjoying a massage.

Reijmer Can't Make Tuna Fold

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Akin Tuna
Akin Tuna

After firing three bullets in the €50,000 Super High Roller without avail, Akin Tuna is here today to try his luck in the Main Event. He's off to a solid start, already doubling his starting stack. Two hands with Daniel Reijmer helped him on his way there.

Hand 1

On a board of {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, Daniel Reijmer check-called a 1,100 bet from Tuna. Reijmer check-called a bet of 2,100 on the {8-Hearts} turn. The river was the {7-Diamonds}, and Reijmer decided to lead out 5,500. Tuna took his time, then called with pocket kings. Reijmer had {7-Spades}{6-Spades} for a pair of sevens and dropped some chips.

Hand 2

In the next hand, Tuna opened to 525 from middle position. Daniel Reijmer three-bet to 1,700 from the small blind, and Tuna called. Reijmer fired another 1,800 bullet on the {K-}{Q-}{6-} flop, also called by Tuna. On the {4-Hearts} turn, Reijmer quickly check-folded to a 2,200 bet from the Turkish High Roller.

Joao Vieira Chips Up

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

When we got to the table the clock had been called on Joao Vieira's opponent. The board was complete and it read {3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. His opponent had checked and Vieira had bet a hefty 6,000 into a pot of around that much. Midway through the clock, his opponent called.

Vieira showed {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a full house and his opponent mucked. The Portuguese EPT regular is amassing chips midway through Day 1a

True stars show up fashionably late, and the EPT Main Event in Barcelona is no exception to that. 2014 WSOP Main Event winner Martin Jacobson, three-time WPT and WSOP-bracelet winner Anthony Zinno, EPT Malta winner Jean Montury, WSOP-bracelet winner David Peters and Nick Petrangelo, who won the €10,000 High Roller here in Barcelona earlier this week, all took their places in the already stacked field.

Xiaoyang Luo vs Charlie Carrel

Niveau 4 : 150/300, 50 ante

Two players with above average chip stacks are Xiaoyang Luo and Charlie Carrel. In this hand Luo opened from the hijack to 700.

"You're still playing loads, right?" asks Carrel from the small blind, as Luo gives him a clear view of his stack. He has a healthy 50,000 or so behind. Carrel calls, as does the player in the big blind.

The flop is {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Carrel led for 1,600. The big blind folded and Luo called from the big blind. The turn was the {q-Hearts} and both players checked. The river was the {8-Diamonds}. Carrel checked and Luo quickly checked behind.

Carrel turned over {5-}{5-}, but Luo won with {k-}{k-}.
