Unstoppable Nitsche Busts Jozonis

Niveau 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Dominik Nitsche raised to 1.75 million and Tomas Jozonis move all in for what appeared to be 13 million, Nitsche snap-called.

Tomas Jozonis: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Dominik Nitsche: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The board came {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Nitsche said "good game buddy" before quickly implementing the chips of Jozonis into his growing tower.

Le crash pour Calamusa

Niveau 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Pierre Calamusa
Pierre Calamusa

End of the Road for Thomas

Niveau 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

The rise of Davidi Kitai continues as Julian Thomas has just become his next victim, bowing out in 47th place.

Thomas had started the hand with around 9.0 million and defended his big blind, then check-called a bet of Kitai for 1.25 million on the {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. Thomas check-shoved the {J-Spades} turn into Kitai's second barrel of 2.2 million and the Belgian called.

Julian Thomas: {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Davidi Kitai: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The {Q-Spades} on the river improved Kitai to a straight and sent Thomas to the rail.

Hecklen Doubles; Vas Nunes Doesn't

Niveau 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Ramin Hajiyev
Ramin Hajiyev

Andrei Konopelko raised from early position and called the shove of Henrik Hecklen in the big blind for 7.4 million, tabling the {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Hecklen was well ahead with the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} and the board came {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{A-Spades}.

Another Russian-speaking player is running much better in Ramin Hajiyev. The Azerbaijani raised from the button and called Paul Vas Nunes' check-shove in the big blind on the {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop.

Paul Vas Nunes: {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Ramin Hajiyev: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The {2-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} river brought no help for Vas Nunes and he became the next casualty of the day.

Hecklen Doubles; Carriazo and Clark Bust

Niveau 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Henrik Hecklen jammed first to act for his last 3.275 million and Tomas Jozonis called in the big blind with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Hecklen only had {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, but found help on the board of {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} to double.

Israel Oliver Carriazo was all in for just 2.8 million with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Dominik Nitsche looked him up with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The board of {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and that was it for the Spaniard.

Last but not least, Jonathan Clark three-bet shoved for 10 million out of the small blind and Davidi Kitai called on the button with the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Clark only had {6-Spades}{5-Spades} and the board came {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts} left the Brit drawing dead to a chop on the turn and the miracle quads on the board to keep Clark in contention never happened.

Rough Start for Lebedev

Niveau 23 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Sergey Lebedev raised to 1.1 million and Honglin Jiang three-bet to 3 million in the big blind, which Lebedev called. On the {Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop both players checked and Lebedev bet the {4-Clubs} turn for 3.5 million, Jiang called.

On the {K-Hearts} river, Lebedev shoved for 8.5 million effective and Jiang called with the {A-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Lebedev only had {K-Clubs}{10-Spades} and had to forfeit a big chunk of his stack. Lebedev then lost a three-bet pot against Stephen Chidwick and Sam Greenwood and lost more than half of his stack thus far.

Touma and Bosca Ramon Next to Fall

Niveau 23 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

There are only 50 players left after the eliminations of Amir Touma and Vicent Bosca Ramon, who both departed within two minutes from each other.

Touma three-bet shoved over a raise by Mikhail Rudoy and lost the flip with {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} against the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} of the Russian, the board ran out {K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Bosca Ramon was all in for 5 million from under the gun and Kitai called from the big blind.

Vicent Bosca Ramon: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Davidi Kitai: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

On a board of {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, ace-high was good enough to send the Spaniard to the rail.

Gruissem Gets Short; Tsang and Brzeski Eliminated

Niveau 23 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Anson Tsang
Anson Tsang

Anson Tsang open-shoved first to act for what appeared to be 5.35 million and Oliver Price on the button was the only player to look him up.

Anson Tsang: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Oliver Price: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board came {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and that was it for Tsang.

Soon after, Pawel Brzeski followed after his three-bet shove for 7.4 million out of the small blind was called by initial raiser Dominik Nitsche in the cutoff. Nitsche won the flop with {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} versus {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} after turning his opponent dead on a board of {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. "That was not bad," Nitsche joked while raking in the pot.

Last but not least, Philipp Gruissem called an almost pot-sized bet of Jan-Eric Schwippert on the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} river for 6.3 million and mucked when being shown {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for two pair.
