Kus Gets Aggressive

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Andres Carrillo was under the gun and raised to 2,300. Action folded around to Martin Kus in the big blind and he decided to defend.

The flop came {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Kus checked to Carrillo who bet 3,100. Kus didn't think for long before check-raising to 9,500. Carrillo quickly called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}. Kus peered over at Carrillo's stack and proceeded to bet 13,000. Carrillo thought for a short while and eventually folded.

Kus continues to build his healthy stack.

Pocket Rockets Get the Job Done for Thomas Lefort

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Thomas Lefort got his stack of 24,600 all in preflop and Beka Iordanishvili, who barely had him covered, was looking to knock him out.

Lefort: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Iordanishvili: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Iordanishvili took the lead when the {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop gave him a set, but it was short lived as the {A-Diamonds} turn gave Lefort a bigger one. The {6-Diamonds} river changed nothing and Lefort shipped the double.

Iordanishvili was left with just 1,500 after, but he went bust in the very next hand.

Luiz Duarte Finishes Off Freddy Otero

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Freddy Otero got his last 5,800 all in preflop and found himself at risk against Luiz Duarte.

Duarte: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Otero: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop was no help to Otero, but the {9-Clubs} turn did give him a couple more outs. Unfortunately for him, the {6-Hearts} river was a brick and he hit the rail.

Jaime Staples Eliminated

Jaime Staples
Jaime Staples

Jaime Staples moved to a new table as his old one was broken, and got right into the action shoving his first hand. From seat five, the hijack, he moved in for 7,500.

Caufman Talley on the button asked for a count and called. Big blind Allberto Meran Matias squeezed to 30,000 and Talley instantly folded.

Allberto Meran Matias: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Jaime Staples: {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

"Come on baby!" Jaime Staples said, "Actually, let's chop it. Put a ten high straight on the board, can we do that?"

Meran Matias seemed ok to chop, but it would be anything but: {Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} on the flop. Staples and Meran Matias shook hands as the dealer put the {9-Hearts} and {K-Clubs} out to complete the board.

"I had sixes" Talley admitted.

"Good game guys," Staples said as he got up from the table and made his exit.

Davidi Kitai Doubles Through Dermot Blain

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With around 16,000 in the pot and a flop of {2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Ireland's Dermot Blain led out for 6,400 from the big blind and Belgium's Davidi Kitai raised all in for 21,700 from the button. Blain made the call and the cards were turned up.

Kitai: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Blain: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Kitai was well out in front with his pocket aces and they held after the {9-Clubs} blanked on the turn followed by the {6-Hearts} on the river.

Solsona Doesn't Believe

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With about 16,000 in the pot, on a board reading {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, Spain's Manuel Solsona checked to Luc Greenwood, who bet 5,000. Solsona called.

The turn was the {q-Clubs} and Solsona thought for a moment before checking. Greenwood also thought about it and opted to check back.

The river was the {8-Spades} and Solsona checked yet again. Greenwood went into the tank and eventually put out a bet of 15,000. Solsona thought for about two minutes and put out a few chips, indicating a call. Greenwood rapped the table and showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for jack high. Solsona showed {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for ace high and scooped the pot.

Dvoress Ousts One

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After a player opened early, Daniel Dvoress made it about 5,500 to go in middle position. Someone moved all in from the small blind for about 27,000 and Dvoress snap-called when the opener folded.

Dvoress: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop cut down on the cards Dvoress needed to dodge, and no ace appeared on the turn or river anyway.

Panama's Omar Urriola Straightened Out

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Panama's Omar Urriola got his last 18,000 or so all in on a {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop and found himself at risk against Jonathan Abdellatif.

Abdellatif: {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Urriola: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Urriola was out in front with kings, but Abdellatif had flopped an open-ended straight draw. The {J-Clubs} turn was of no consequence, but the {6-Diamonds} river was as Abdellatif made his straight to eliminate the hometown player.

Lech Gets a River Raise Paid

Niveau 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We found Michael Lech in middle position sliding in a raise to 27,800 when a player in the blinds bet 12,000 on a board of {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Lech's opponent announced a call in short order, and Lech showed {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for aces up and the win.

A win here would undoubtedly pay for a lot of backpacking for the vagabond Lech.
