With the board reading {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} three players were still alive in the hand. The action checked to John Templeton in the cutoff who bet 8,500 and Phil Ivey called from the small blind while the other player folded. The river was the {5-Clubs} and both players checked with Ivey showing {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for the winning hand.

In the next hand, there was a raise to 3,000 from under the gun and two players called before Ivey came along from the button. the flop fell {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and the action checked to Ivey who bet 8,000. The preflop raiser check-raised to 17,000 and Ivey called to go heads-up.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Ivey was faced with a bet of 20,000 which he called. The river brought the {a-Diamonds}, putting four diamonds on the board and Ivey was facing another bet of 20,000. Ivey went into the tank for a few minutes, counting his chips and eyeing up his opponent. He eventually made the call and his opponent turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Ivey rolled over {7-Hearts}{5-Spades} for just two pair but it was good enough to scoop another healthy pot.

Niveau 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The board was down {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs}, and Xuan Liu was on the button and bet 12,000 after her opponent had checked to her from the hijack. Liu's opponent raised to 24,000, and she went into thinking mode. Liu thought for several minutes with her opponent waiting for her to act before she moved all in.

The hijack player needed a couple of minutes himself to think before eventually letting hand his go and allowing Liu to pick up the pot.

Another One for Violette

Niveau 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Cyndy Violette has been hovering between 150,000 and 200,000 chips today. She was down a little bit from when we last checked on her, but she did win another pot.

In a small blind versus big blind battle, Violette called a raise to 10,500 on the {K-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop. The {Q-Hearts} turn was dealt and the player in the small blind put in another 8,500. Violette called again and the {A-Spades} river came down.

This time both players checked and the player in the small blind opened up {Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Violette took a good look and then opened up {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} to take down the pot.
