Defending Champion Kwon Through to Day 2; Rodawig Leads $1,500 Razz

Jay Kwon
Jay Kwon

Welcome to Day 2 of Event #54: $1,500 Razz where a further ten levels are scheduled to be played. Some 127 players remain from a starting field of 363 and defending champion Jay Kwon is among them, sitting with over the average chip stack at the start of the day.

Kwon won his first bracelet and $125,431 in this event last year. With three WSOP cashes - all of which coming in Razz - it's safe to assume that Kwon will be a force to be reckoned with at the tables once play gets underway at 2 p.m.

Leading the 127 is Eric Rodawig. A bracelet-winner, just like Kwon, Rodawig won his back in 2011 when he took down the $10,000 Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship for $442,183.

Other bracelet winners through to Day 2 include Scott Clements, John Cernuto, Jennifer Tilly, Naoya Kihara, Michael Gathy, Anson Tsang, Steven Albini, Gary Benson, Ryan Riess, Owais Ahmed, Carol Fuchs and 2019 bracelet-winner Robert Campbell.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for continued updates from the $1,500 Razz event.

Bracelet Winner Campbell Still in the Field

Niveau 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante
Robert Campbell
Robert Campbell

Australian Robert Campbell may have won his bracelet earlier this summer in $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw, but he has a strong mixed game pedigree, especially in Razz.

Campbell has 11 top-ten finishes in non-NLHE events, including five that included Razz in the mix. Also included are two 2016 cashes in Razz events; a 25th place finish in the $1,500 and then a fifth-place finish in the $10,000 Championship equivalent.

Now he's already grabbed his first, who's to say that Campbell can't grab a second in this event?
