Taylor Drops Two

Niveau 3 : 200/300, 500 ante
Thomas Taylor
Thomas Taylor

It's been a slow start for Canadian Thomas Taylor, including a pair of recent hands.

First he raised to 1,000 from under the gun and was three-bet by Paul Fehlig in the cutoff to 4,000.

Taylor opted to release his hand there, then in the following hand in the big blind he called a raise from Michael Hartzheim to 1,000, needing to draw one.

After the draw, Taylor had to check-fold to a bet of 2,500 from his opponent, leaving him with just 6,000 chips.

McEwen Pats, Doubles Off Brown

Niveau 3 : 200/300, 500 ante

WSOP bracelet winner Andrew Brown three-bet before the draw to 3,600 and got a call from a player in the small blind. From the big blind, Preston McEwen shoved all in for around 10,500, Brown re-shoved for 16,000, and the small blind quickly got out of the way.

McEwen stood pat while Brown took one. McEwen delivered the bad news, showing 8-7-5-3-2.

"He wins," Brown said without even looking at his last card before sending his hand into the muck, giving up a significant portion of his stack.

Schwartz Raking in Pots

Niveau 3 : 200/300, 500 ante

Jake Schwartz had his run toward a bracelet come up short after finishing runner-up to Phil Hellmuth in this event last year, and he's already off to a fast start this year.

In his last hand, Victor Ramdin raised to 1,200 from under the gun and received calls from the button and Schwartz in the big blind. Schwartz and Ramdin both took one, while the button drew two.

Schwartz led out for 3,000 after the draw and Ramdin quickly folded. The button, though, gave the decision some thought before calling.

"Ten-eight," Schwartz said, turning over 10-8-6-4-3 that was enough to win the pot.

Monnette's Big Bet Gets Paid

Niveau 3 : 200/300, 500 ante
John Monnette
John Monnette

With approximately 2,000 in the pot after the draw, John Monnette's opponent in the big blind checked, and Monnette fired out a bet of 4,000.

Monnette's opponent gave his decision some thought and then made the call.

The four-time bracelet winner rolled over {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} and his opponent tossed his hand to the muck, awarding a healthy pot to Monnette.
