Koon Fills Up on Sammartino Free of Charge

Niveau 13 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Chris Hunichen opened to 100,000 in the cutoff and was called by Jason Koon on the button and Dario Sammartino in the big blind. The flop fell {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and the action checked to Koon who bet 175,000. Sammartino and Hunichen both called to see the {7-Clubs} on the turn.

Sammartino led out with a bet of 375,000 on the turn which got Hunichen to fold. However, Koon called and the {k-Diamonds} paired the board on the river.

Sammartino checked this time and Koon eyed up his opponent's stack before shoving all in. Sammartino had around 1,400,000 in front of him and reluctantly made the call. Koon showed {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a full house while Sammartino was left with {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a straight as he headed to the rail.

Cruising in the $250k, Is 2022 Phil Ivey's Best WSOP Ever?

Niveau 13 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

It's not a matter if, but when will Phil Ivey become just the second player ever to win that elusive 11th World Series of Poker gold bracelet. Perhaps, he's just a day away, especially if he continues to dominate Event #50: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em.

Ivey's been stuck on 10 since 2014, tied for second with Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson. He still has his work cut out for him to catch Phil Hellmuth, who holds the record with 16 WSOP titles. But it's clear now that he's as focused now to win bracelets as was in the 2000s.

Ivey Continues to Sky Rocket

Niveau 12 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Phil Ivey raised to 85,000 in early position and was called by Dan Zack on his left. The rest of the table folded and they went heads-up to a flop of {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Ivey checked to Zack who bet 140,000 and Ivey called.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {7-Clubs} on the river. Ivey led out with a bet of 400,000 this time and Zack flicked in a chip to call. Ivey turned over {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for two pair and Zack gave him the thumbs up.

Peters' New Stack of Chips Falls to Pieces with Aces

Niveau 12 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

After just being on the right side of a cooler against Daniel Negreanu, David Peters was looking to become one of the chip leaders just moments later.

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened to 80,000 from under the gun and Peters three-bet to 320,000 on the button. Martin Kabrhel flat-called from the big blind only to have Ponakovs four-bet shove all in. Peters thought for a brief moment before calling off his stack of around 2,800,000. Kabrhel folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

David Peters: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Aleksejs Ponakovs: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Peters was in great shape to score another big double up but the flop of {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} gave Ponakovs a few outs to a straight. The {3-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn but the {j-Spades} on the river was exactly what Ponakovs was looking for.
