Stepuchin is Four Beers Deep and Has a Lot Less Chips

Niveau 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Frank Stepuchin
Frank Stepuchin

Frank Stepuchin is currently sitting with a stack of four empty beer cups beside his chips at just 2 p.m. here in Las Vegas. He also raised to 2,100 from under the gun and Michael Miller three-bet to 6,500 from the hijack. The action folded back to Stepuchin who called.

The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} and both players checked to the {7-Clubs} on the turn and the {3-Hearts} on the river. Stepuchin finally led out with a bet of 12,500 and Miller quickly called. Stepuchin showed {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} for just queen-high while Miller turned over {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines.

Heiskanen Calls Rabichow With Ace-High, Then Fills Up to Double

Niveau 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jeremy Heiskanen raised to 2,400 from early position as Kevin Rabichow and a player in middle position called.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and action checked to Rabichow, who bet 2,500. Only Heiskanen called to the {8-Hearts} turn, when he check-called another bet of 4,000.

The river came the {7-Spades} and both players checked, with Heiskanen showing {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} to win the pot.

Heiskanen was still stacking his chips from that pot when he raised to 2,000 the next hand. The player to his left reraised to 4,500, Rabichow called, and Heiskanen stuck around to see the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop.

The original raiser continued for 6,000 and both opponents called. He put another 16,000 on the {2-Spades} turn, getting rid of Rabichow.

Heiskanen, though, moved all in for 47,400.

"Please don't tell me you have queens," Heiskanen's opponent said before calling with {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Heiskanen did indeed turn over {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for a full house.

The river came the {6-Diamonds} and Heiskanen doubled up.

Benny Glaser is also at this table, sitting directly beside Rabichow.

Comeskey Ousted With Cracked Aces

Niveau 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Caitlin Comesky
Caitlin Comesky

Caitlin Comeskey had gotten her remaining stack in from early position and was at risk against Andrew Conway in the cutoff.

Caitlin Comeskey: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Andrew Conway: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Comeskey was in good shape with the superior pocket pair, but the {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop put her well behind, while another player at the table mentioned they folded a jack. The {8-Diamonds} turn left Comeskey needing one of two aces, but the {5-Clubs} completed the board to end her Main Event in brutal fashion.

Koon Takes Down Multiway Pot

Niveau 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jason Koon
Jason Koon

Jason Koon raised to 2,200 under the gun and was called by the cutoff, Pedro Mendoza on the button and the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of {q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and the action checked to Mendoza who fired out a bet of 7,000. Only Koon made the call.

The {8-Diamonds} hit the turn, and Koon checked to Mendoza before he checked back.

The {j-Spades} landed on the river and this time Koon led out for 17,000. Mendoza thought it over for a short period of time and pitched his cards into the middle.

Three-Way Pot for Chantler

Niveau 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

In a three-way pot, the flop read {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} when Qiyu "Nemo" Zhou checked from the small blind and the second player bet 1,800. It was called by Gareth Chantler and Zhou.

The same action happened on the {10-Hearts} turn, this time for 1,300, and the {8-Diamonds} paired the board on the river. After a last check from Zhou, the second player bet another 1,300 and it was called again by Chantler and Zhou.

Zhou showed {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} while the second player held {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Chantler revealed {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} to scoop the pot with the best hand.

Nikiforov Forces A Fold

Niveau 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player opened to 2,500 on the button and was called by the small blind as well as Ilya Nikiforov out of the big blind.

Both blinds checked on a flop of {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and the button continued for 4,000. The small blind got out of the way while Nikiforov called to send the two remaining players heads-up to the turn.

The {q-Spades} turn saw Nikiforov lead out for 5,500 and, after some consideration, his opponent folded. Nikiforov, who just last week finished 3rd in WSOP Event #67: $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty for a career high $254,791, has now moved past the 100,000 mark.
