Day 2 of Event #41: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em & Pot-Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot saw 167 players out of 1,312 that registered return to action at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas. Players were already in the money to start the day, guaranteed a small share of the total $1,751,520 prize pool and battling for the $270,820 first prize.
The day continued to see the novel game-mix again bring fast and interesting action, with bomb pots, in particular, continuing to keep the chips moving. The beginning of the day saw quick eliminations, with around a third of players busting in the first three levels of play.
However, as we started to approach bigger money spots, play slowed down slightly. Originally, play was scheduled to wrap up when only five players remained, but the plan was changed due to players busting out more slowly than expected. The decision was made to decided to bag the chips a bit over midnight at the end of Level 25, which means that 16 players will be returning for Day 3.

Xixiang Luo will be going into the final day as the chip leader with 4,265,000 in chips, slightly edging out Daniel Hachem’s 4,065,000 and Quan Zhou’s 3,875,000 chips.
There are still quite a few bracelet winners left in the field. Joseph Dulaney, Dejuante Alexander, Gabriel Schroeder, William Kopp and Dario Alioto will all be going for their second bracelet. Alioto is also the only remaining player drafted in the $25K Fantasy Draft, as a high-value player on Team DPMC, which acquired him for just $1.
Among the many $25K Fantasy players that made made it to Day 2 but ultimately fell short of the highest payouts, were John Riordan, Dong Chen, Dario Sammartino, Rob Hollink, Renji Mao, Patrick Leonard, Ian Matakis, Benny Glaser, Jeff Madsen, Ari Engel and a few others. Bracelet-winner and high stakes pro David Benyamine was also in the mix but busted in the second half of the day.
Six-time bracelet winner and member of $25k Fantasy Team Lucky Shaun Deeb made a deep run and was in high spirits, but at one point lost a big hand to Peter Nghia Le and busted soon after.

The final day of the event will unfold on Monday, June 17, at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas, starting at 1:00 p.m. local time. Players will return to Level 26 with blinds at 30,000/60,000 with a 60,000 ante.

With just four minutes left before players bag for the night, action picked up with Marcos Exterkotter in the big blind and Muzzio in late position looking at a board of 3♠4♥A♥2♠. Muzzio had bet and Exterkotter shoved all in for 950,000. Muzzio made the call and the players showed their hands.

Frankie Muzzio: 4♦4♣
The river brought a 6♠ completing Exterkotter's straight draw and securing him the double up.

Pot-Limit Omaha
Quan Zhou opened to 160,000 from under the gun. David Funkhouser in middle position and Aaron Frank in the cutoff called. Button folded and it was to Dejuante Alexander in the small blind. Alexander squeezed all in, which was for 445,000. Next to act was Gabriel Schroeder, who also decided to re-raise for his stack of 915,000.
It was back to Zhou, who decided to pot yet again. Funkhouser seemed to have a difficult decision, but decided to fold. Frank also folded and players were all in before the flop.
Dejuante Alexander: A♣J♦10♣7♦
Gabriel Schroeder: K♦K♣J♠7♣
Quan Zhou: 10♠8♠6♥4♥
The flop was 6♣3♠4♣ and both Alexander and Schroeder flopped a flush draw, while Zhou had two pair.
Alexander’s rail called for a club, and their wish was granted when the 2♣ rolled off.
The river was the 3♥. It paired the board, but did not change anything for player’s hands. Alexander tripled-up, while Schroeder took the side pot of around 900,000. Zhou’s stack took a hit, but he was able to get some of it back by winning a pot soon after and is still in good shape.

Pot-Limit Omaha
Mark Wahba went all in on a river reading K♥A♥9♣A♠5♥ and was quickly called by Robert Cote.
Wahba tabled the J♦10♠8♣7♦ but it was purely a formality as Cote chirped up that he had a flush and tabled A♦Q♥J♥6♦.
Wahba was sent to the payouts desk as the remaining competitors redrew for the final two tables.

Pot-Limit Omaha
Action started with a min-raise from Joseph Dulaney in the cutoff, which Xixiang Luo called on the button. Zakhar Galper was in the small blind and he decided to three-bet to 450,000. Dulaney and Luo both called.
The flop came 5♠4♠4♣. Galper was first to act and went all in for 600,000 chips. Dulaney folded and Luo though for a little while. He decided to call.
Zakhar Galper: A♠A♥8♦4♦
Xixiang Luo: K♥10♣2♥2♣
Galper was way ahead with trip fours, while Luo held the open-ended straight draw. However, the two remaining aces would also make Galper a full house, so Luo was only drawing to four sixes and running cards.
Luo picked up additional outs on the 9♣ turn, improving to a flush draw. However, it was the 6♠ that brought in Luo’s straight and sent Galper to the rail in a very unlucky fashion.
