Schemion Leads Final Ten in Event #12: €2,000 8-Game Mix as Bubble Bursts

Niveau 17 : 4,000/8,000, 12,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

The money bubble has burst in Event #12: €2,000 8-Game Mix and that sent the final 10 players out of a 61-entry strong field off for the night as they all locked up a portion of the €107,207 prize pool. Ten different countries will be defended, albeit Ole Schemion hails from Germany and relocated to Austria several years ago.

It is also Schemion who leads the ten survivors after he finished 7th in Event #10: €25,000 NLH Platinum High Roller and jumped into the mixed game action shortly thereafter. While not necessarily known to dabble in all eight poker variants on the live poker circuits, he claimed 863,000 in chips after a late surge.

The UK's Artan Dedusha sits in second place with 563,000 in chips and Mikkel Plum (473,000) rounds up the overnight podium. Further notable finalists include Julien Martini, Max Pescatori and Roland Israelashvili. For the latter, it is the fifth cash in as many tournaments during the ongoing festival in Europe's biggest poker arena at the King's Resort in Rozvadov.

The ten contenders for the coveted gold bracelet and top prize of €33,910 will return to their seats at 10 a.m. local time with just over three minutes remaining in level 17.

Notable casualties outside of the money included Anatoly Filatov, defending champion Espen Sandvik, Laszlo Bujtas, Christopher Puetz, Dzmitry Urbanovich, and Dario Alioto.

Close to the money bubble, Sarharib Karatas was eliminated by Schemion and the last player to leave empty-handed was Germany's Thomas Schroepfer. With two all-ins at the same time on different tables, Schroepfer came up short while Winamax Team Pro Borja Gross survived his showdown.

There will be another redraw for the final seven players and all hopefuls have €3,158 locked up for their efforts. Stay tuned for the conclusion of the event as the PokerNews live reporting team will provide all the key hands until a winner has been crowned.

Gross Chops; Schroepfer Bubbles

Niveau 17 : 4,000/8,000, 12,000 ante
Thomas Schroepfer
Thomas Schroepfer

There were two all-in and call at the same time on different tables and here is how they unfolded.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Mikkel Plum raised from an early position and Borja Gross three-bet jammed for the last 44,000, which Plum called.

Borja Gross: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Mikkel Plum: {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

"You deserve to win this for being so brave and moving all-in on the bubble," Plum said. The board ran out {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts} and they chopped it up.

Seven Card Stud

Thomas Schroepfer: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} / {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades} / {5-Clubs}
Nicolas Bokowski: {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} / {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} / {3-Spades}

Thomas Schroepfer was the bring-in once more and had very few chips left behind. Nicolas Bokowski limped in and the rest of the table folded. On fourth street, Schroepfer called all-in. Bokowski had a ton of equity with his gutshot by then and improved to a superior pair on fifth, then added a flush draw on sixth.

Seventh street brought no improvement to Bokowski but Schroepfer also bricked to bust on the bubble. All remaining ten players are now bagging and tagging for the night.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Dario Alioto got involved from under the gun and Julien Martini then three-bet to 20,000 in the small blind. Alioto repotted to 65,000 with some 4,000 behind and Martini called. On the {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Martini bet and Alioto called all-in.

Dario Alioto: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Julien Martini: {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

The {9-Hearts} turn and {10-Hearts} river brought no miracle for Alioto and he was sent to the rail in 13th place. All 12 remaining players will now redraw to the final two tables.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Julien Martini raised from under the gun and Jan Bendik came along out of the small blind. Borja Gross raised in the big blind for Martini to call, Bendik made it three bets and both opponents called. Bendik got the last chip in after the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and earned two calls.

On the {6-Diamonds} turn, Gross checked and Martini bet to send his table neighbour into the tank. The clock was called as Gross then reluctantly folded.

Jan Bendik: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Julien Martini: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Bendik needed an ace to chop but the {q-Diamonds} river brought no miracle.

Mikkel Plum raised to 9,000 in the cutoff and Ole Schemion three-bet the pot on the button. Miroslav Pantaleev then jammed for 43,500 in the big blind and Plum folded. "I think I gonna suck out on you," Schemion grinned and called.

Miroslav Pantaleev: {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Ole Schemion: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

"I regret folding," Plum joked when the cards were turned over.

Pantaleev flopped best on {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and remained ahead on the {a-Clubs} turn. However, Schemion got there with the {j-Hearts} river to reduce the field to the final 15 players.

Stefan Schoss called a raise to 20,000 by Mikkel Plum on the button and then check-called bets worth 15,000 on the {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop, 25,000 on the {q-Diamonds} turn and 45,000 on the {6-Spades} river. Plum revealed {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a flush and Schoss mucked.

One hand later, Schoss jammed for 17,000 from under the gun and Didier Rabl reluctantly called in the big blind.

Stefan Schoss: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Didier Rabl: {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
